hello everyone. hope all is well. valentine's day is coming up, and i was wondering what are some good ideas for the day? i have not celebrated the holiday for about 4 years now (isn't it sad?) and well, now i have a wonderful reason to.

my boyfriend and i are pretty laid back, and since its in the middle of the week and we have to work, i thought about spending it at home (his place, i dont have my own apt. yet) he agreed. any ideas? i was thinking of cooking dinner. any gift ideas?

or i general i would like to hear anyone else's plans...happy valentine's day!

Well if you have a key to his place and can get there before him you could put some sexy lingerie on and light some candles and what not and then when he comes home give him a big suprise. If that happened to me I would be pretty damn happy. You can make him dinner too, but if you do the first part of my idea he'll probably want to skip dinner and go straight for dessert when he walks in the door.

Make Spagetti....I heard something the other day, that once a man eats a women's spagetti than he is hers forever!!! If you think about it you will figure out why!

I dont even wanna think about what he meant on that last one...

hmm...lets see...I would just buy some really great things you both like to eat, get some good movies together and veg out, but make it special by buying him a really nice card, how much fun you guys have together should be the most important thing, and the nice together time, and the spirit of the valentine's holiday itself should be enough to get things going, I would think. If not...buy a good bottle of wine, and tell stories all night. Worst travel experiences, funny car stories, horrible one liners all seem hilarious when the vino is flowin. :D

Hope that doesnt sound lame lol, I havent done the valentine's thing in a while either. :o

Hi since you are very familiar with each other, do something that will knock his socks off. I like the make him dinner idea...I landed my Hubby with a secret weapon of a meal...he swears to this day its one of the main reasons he married me! :D

Get some good sized shrimp,a GOOD brand jar of Pesto sauce, and linguine noodles, butter and a lemon(looks classier to squeeze than slopping on the bottled lemon) and chicken broth, and GOOD white wine-no cheap crap..or at least a good Zinfandel.

Olive oil in deep pan, sautee shrimp with butter, then add a glob of pesto(green basil -based stuff) to mix around, then add a can of chik broth, and half the lemon squeezed in.put a few splashes of wine in there, too.

Get your noodles done, when drained drizzle ex virgin olive oil(REAL fragrant and flavorful) and mix in as much pesto as you like .

Serve shrimp over linguine mix, add cut lemon slices to serve, and some parmesan cheese and French bread. Pour the wine...enjoy!!It only takes as long as the noodles cook to prepare and very simple and TASTY!!
