Hi everyone!!! Yesterday I dyed my hair back to blonde (that's not my og color) which I've had before but for a year now I've had it dark brown with light brown highlights. Well my bf got so mad he said that he does not like it and to go back to brunette. I said, "hell no, i like this and that is that"!!!! Now he is so mad at me. I honestly think he is over-reacting plus I look gorgeous :p When we were younger I use to have my hair blonde and it never bothered him, so what's the deal????

Could it be insecurity? Maybe he feels you're doing it to look good to "other people"

 

 

In any case...I'm glad that you didn't let him tell you what to do! Like he should be able to control what color you dye your hair :confused: !!!

You know my EXBF would actually get p :mad: ssed off IF I had a hair appointment and didn't *gasp* tell him about it!

 

He actually told me once that "it was okay for me to get my hair done, AS LONG as I ran it past him FIRST" :eek:

 

Honestly.. It wouldn't have bothered me to have said "Hey I'm thinking about doing this with my hair, what do you think?" but because he insisted on it.. It made me mad.. AND IF I wanted to do it.. LOL I was going to anyway.

 

I dunno girl.. ask him what the hell he's tripping about here?

It's too hard for you to tell on this one but my hair is a medium blonde with darker shades.

When my husband has an appointment for a haircut I go. I explain to the hairdresser what I like and dislike. I explain how I want him/her to cut it and how I don't want him/her to use clippers.

 

My husband has no problem with it because as far as he's concerned, I'm the one staring at him more than he's staring at himself and I'm the one that he wants to find him attractive. Would I ever get pissed that my husband got his haircut without telling me? No. But if he came home with a haircut that I hated and he knows how I like his hair to be cut, I'd be a little perturbed.

 

It's not a control issue. It's more of a "I think you're damn sexy when you look like <insert old look>. Not when you look like <insert new look>. Don't do it again. I want you to be sexy."

Really? Well it's a bit different now. More yellowish in this pic it's more brownish blonde.

 

I honestly LOVE it!!! I have it straight and up to my shoulders now, but nooooooo he wants to b*tch instead of complimenting me :rolleyes:

I think it looks good like that as well. My man doesn't worry too much about the color of my hair, but the other day he told me that it was time for me to get a hair cut. He said my hair was getting too long and I needed to take about an inch off. I thought that was wierd. Before when I wanted to cut it he said "You better not!" He told me that he likes my hair a little bit long. Now only about two weeks later he wants me to cut it. Ok?

Maybe he saw someone on tv with short hair and he changed his mind. Who knows?? Men are weird!!!

did you ask him what it is about your hair that he doesn't like? sometimes people are so resistant to change that their first reaction is anger. He'll get used to it.

 

I've colored my hair many times for different reasons. It was green once; well, actually twice -- the first time was accidental, the second time on purpose! I've been several shades of blond; various red colors; and a couple shades of brown. I also died my hair pitch black for Halloween one year. I don't look good in black hair -- but I look good in black clothes, go figure. My husband has learned to roll with it. I've tried to get it back to my original color when I was young, but it has changed so much over the years -- after childbirth and menopause!

 

Ask him specifically why he doesn't like it. My husband told me once that he didn't like painted fingernails because he associated them with whores and prostitutes. My response: Don't look at my hands then. :p

He told me that it's too fake and that I look like an airhead!!!! Can you believe that? How is it that a hair color can make me look like an airhead? He said that with dark hair my eyes look lighter and that I look more natural :rolleyes:

 

My hair was blonde for 5 years and it never bothered him before. When I first dyed my hair dark brown he never even complimented me, he just said "cool" :rolleyes:
