ConfidentandSexual Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 The best person to describe how I look is Trey Songz. I live in Canada at the moment as I seek my bachelor's degree. I am from the Caribbean. I am confident that I can sexually please a woman because I have a very romantic side that I believe many woman want in a man. I don't drink no do I smoke. After my last break up, and the serious drought of being single that followed, I have become more self aware. I am in a position to fulfill a woman's emotional needs; including physical and emotional. Yet no Canadian women seem to be interested in me or show any signs on campus. I have spoken to a few and gotten their numbers, but they either have boyfriends or they just don't seem interested. So can a woman be attracted to a foreigner? I know I am great boyfriend material who is driven to be a success and can fulfill her relational needs.
Hello_is_it_me Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 You're saying that girls with boyfriends aren't responding to your advances?! Damn nationalistic Canadians!!
Author ConfidentandSexual Posted March 16, 2014 Author Posted March 16, 2014 You're saying that girls with boyfriends aren't responding to your advances?! Damn nationalistic Canadians!! Lol I live in a college dorm full of ladies. I'm not suggesting that a woman leaves her man for me at all. I do a lot of approaching and either the woman is not interested or she has a boyfriend. There are many more that I do not approach because I don't have the time. But I've yet to see any sign of interest from any lady.
Gaeta Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I am a French Canadian woman living in Montreal and black men are very busy dating here my boyfriend is from the Caribbean. There is a saying here that it's good to be a black man in Montreal.
TheKook Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I'm a senior in high school and there are a few exchange students from france/germany that come here. A lot of them are pretty boys that think they're players. Doesn't help that their accents and metrosexual looks attract a lot of stupid chicks. I don't even think they realize these guys are going back to their home countries as soon as the school year is over. Regardless, they're dicks and I can see through them. Ain't got nothinnnn on this stud But I think my situation is a little different. I think being foreign might be attractive to some women, but ultimately it's not usually going to make or break your dating game.

We were all kitesurfing and the one I had my eye on was a lovely lady. We still keep in contact over Facebook.

You're basically saying difference doesn't matter if your game is on point. I think my game is on point, but I feel judged because I have a different skin color. Even though inside I'm a great person, no girl really shows interest or seems to want to get to know me.
Author ConfidentandSexual Posted March 16, 2014 Author Posted March 16, 2014 I am glad we made a good impression Where are you in Canada? In Oshawa for now.

If you look like Trey then you should be fine dude. Just keep doing what you're doing, the real relationships come around when you least expect it. Make sure you're putting yourself out there too. If you aren't making yourself apparent to the ladies and trying to be around them, how will they ever know how great you are?
Hello_is_it_me Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I don't think nationality and race matter as much as personality. Keep your head up and keep looking!
Gaeta Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 In Oshawa for now. Oshawa! Well you're lost in white-lala-land. A little city of 100K with only 3% black population. While you are stuck there I suggest you try clubs where the students hang out and online dating. The ladies into black men will go after you, you won't have to come up with any efforts.

I feel like I've been putting myself out there a lot, yet the reciprocity needed to form a relationship is missing. In other words, I show interest but I don't seem to be the right 'type' for most of the ladies around here. Even though I know I'd fulfill her needs I live on residence so I see many women consistently. The opportunity to build a relationship is there, but again they don't seem to want to because I am different.

Yes haha you hit the nail on the head. I didn't want to state that the majority of women where I live are white; I didn't want to seem like a racist or that I was idealizing white women if you know what I mean. Would you say Trey Songz is black or brown? Anyway, because most of Oshawa is white, I feel like women are less hesitant to date me because I am not.

Not long from now (Could be a few weeks to a couple months) you're gonna have some chick hanging off you and you'll look back to right now and just laugh. You sound really passionate and a ton of girls love that. I mean, I used to feel like you back in october. I was like, "Why is my dating life so boring right now". Then like a month and a half later, I landed a 9/10 chick who I dated for a few months. Want to know how I met her? Going out on a limb and sending her a flirty/funny facebook message. It really is that unexpected sometimes! Although we recently split up and I miss her haha but i'm back in the game I guess. Just wait it out and keep going, truuuust me. Big pointer though, idk if you're already like this but make sure you're confident as can be. If you have good looks, you're romantic, passionate and are moving up in life, lots of confidence will make you worlds more attractive. Also if you're in a mostly white city... You can still be super attractive to white women even if you're black. You could wear really geek-chic clothes (look it up) and that would probably work better for you among the white crowd. I been single for 3 years up here. But that just motivates me to hit the gym more and get good grades. I am confident, but forming a relationship is easier when both parties are equally motivated. Congrats on your 9/10 man hope you guys had fun while it lasted. What happened? Can you reignite the fire?
Hello_is_it_me Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Now have you tried out online dating at all? It might be something to give a go at.
Gaeta Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Yes haha you hit the nail on the head. Ok, so lets talk about the real things here. You have a couple of things to be aware of. You are a black foreign man in a small white community. People in these small places are not used to see foreigners and they have lots of non founded believe about foreigners. An Asian man, an Arabic man would have the exact same problem as you. It's not so much the color of your skin but the fact you are a foreigner. You would not have to deal with that if you were in a big metropolitan like Montreal or Toronto where people live and work next to foreigners each day. Second thing, I am familiar with men from the Caribbeans, you come on to women way too strong sometimes for the ladies over here. You have to tone it down. Do not try to seduce the ladies by listing them what a great lover you are ok Keep it clean and friendly. And third, like someone mentioned, you are here temporarily, the ladies in University know you will go back to your country or you will move to a big center like Toronto, or go to the US so yes, you may not he the perfect prospect for long term and most ladies at that age are thinking long term.
Author ConfidentandSexual Posted March 16, 2014 Author Posted March 16, 2014 Now have you tried out online dating at all? It might be something to give a go at. Nah i havn't. I prefer spontaneous interactions. But OLD is an option I can look into later on.
Hello_is_it_me Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Nah i havn't. I prefer spontaneous interactions. But OLD is an option I can look into later on. It's really not that bad! Think about it - it's like an online "bar" setting (sans alcohol), except you kind of already know a little bit about these people so you can find what matches with you.

I keep it clean. I guess the biggest determinant is the fact that I may be moving to somewhere with a bigger population once University is over as you said, and they know this. Sometimes I feel like my only purpose now is just to get my degree, and when its over, my life will be as it should be. So as a result I should divert all my attention to studying and not expect anything relational at this point in my life.

Lmao a black man on a dating profile in Oshawa? I'd get NEXTed (overlooked) so many times.
Gaeta Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 And like the poster before me said, I encourage you to give a try to online dating. This is what people do nowadays, there is nothing bad or desperate about it. You may not find your future wife but you will definitely meet women interested in meeting you, going out, or for fun of all kinds, what ever rock your boat.
Hello_is_it_me Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Lmao a black man on a dating profile in Oshawa? I'd get NEXTed (overlooked) so many times. Hey man.. you reach out and see who responds. I'm sure there's loads of white canadians that prefer to date black guys. So why not use every tool at your disposal to connect with them!
