Medium.Lumo Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 There is this girl who seems into me but objectively is way out of my league. Why would a girl do this? To mess with someone's feelings?

Trimmer Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 There is this girl who seems into me but objectively is way out of my league. Why would a girl do this? To mess with someone's feelings? I agree. If you're only 6 or 7, I can't see why a 9-year-old would be interested in you. A little weird, frankly. 2
Author Medium.Lumo Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 The thing is she hasn't actually said she wants a relationship but we spend a lot of time together, text a lot, hold hands, we have made out... I don't understand it. Either she is messing with me or feels sorry for me, or wants me to do something that I am not getting.
FrostBlaze Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Not all people think the same. Meaning some people might see you differently and not give you a 6 or 5, might see you as a 9...blabla. If looks are decent enough i can love a person simply because i like their personality. I've seen plenty of ugly men with pretty women and vice-versa. My ex while considered "not so pretty" by many, wich made me bitchslap them, i considered her very beautifull. I just liked her more than anyone else, it's that simple. Did she have a big ass? No Big jugs? No. Great Smile?Yes etc. In the eyes of many she would of been a no, in my eyes it was all i wanted. If she likes you, go for it. Ask her what's up and make a move on it, don't let her just "play" you. 1
Author Medium.Lumo Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 Numbers don't mean anything. She likes you. Go for it. Thanks pick. I don't really know what to do. Ask straight? I am thinking of seeing if she accepts a FB relationship status change.
Author Medium.Lumo Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 Thanks Frost. Inspiring post. The problem is I don't know how to make smooth moves. There should be a manual on women. ASG Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Thanks pick. I don't really know what to do. Ask straight? I am thinking of seeing if she accepts a FB relationship status change. Er... a FB status change before you speak to her about it??? Don't. Don't be presumptuous. Ask her what her feelings are and what you're doing. Face to face. Chances are she likes you, but she may not want to splash it all over FB!! I know I wouldn't!!
pickflicker Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Thanks pick. I don't really know what to do. Ask straight? I am thinking of seeing if she accepts a FB relationship status change. No. Ask her on a proper date. 2
BDL Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Are you a girl? Stop being insecure about your looks. Do girls rate guys on their looks based on numbers system with the same importance that guys apply to women? This is just weird.
Author Medium.Lumo Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 No. Ask her on a proper date. Like....? I need ideas because we have done all the usual dating activities as friends already.

Let's see what she says!
Author Medium.Lumo Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 I can't believe it! She accepted. I was kind of not expecting that. So now... what do I do? Not really sure.
topaMAXX Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Haha I hear ya man. I've had girls WAY better looking than me into me too....and they chose me over guys that are tall and very good-looking. Never made sense to me, but it happened a few times. It's best not think about it or try to rationalize it. Just roll with it.

d0nnivain Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Stop rating people by numbers. It's mean. That said, I suspect she likes you -- which is DUH -- why she agreed to go out with you. Using your number system, if you asked her, she'd probably tell you the assessment you offered: her a 9; you a 6-7 is backwards. She's just as insecure about her looks & place in the world as you are. Since you now have a date, plan something nice. Be gracious & cordial. Listen to what she has to say. Be attentive. If you do this correctly you could have a GF. 3

Imajerk17 Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 This thread struck me as humblebragging too. "I'm a not-so-good looking virgin and I got this hawt girl into me! We hold hands and make-out and everything!! So golly-gee how did that happen? How am I so awesome?"
topaMAXX Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Is the OP really insecure though? I personally thought he was humble-bragging with that 6-7 assessment Nah I don't think he's humbly bragging. It's quite a shock when you're dating someone that is objectively significantly better looking than you are.....to the point that you have to talk to many people about it to make sure you're judging the situation correctly. I've been there for sure. 1
Author Medium.Lumo Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 How old are you ? I'm 22. Yeah I know... late starter
Author Medium.Lumo Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 I'm not bragging. I was actually suspicious that she seemed so interested. She's sweet so I thought she may just feel sorry for me, but I also suspected she may be playing with me (there are reasons for this but it's complicated, I detailed them in previous threads). I thought that one way of telling would be to request a FB relationship status change. That's pretty public. She accepted and she actually seems ecstatic about it TopMAXX is correct here... she is objectively much better looking. It's not a humble brag, just a fact.
Author Medium.Lumo Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 Thanks for the message but I have to disagree I'm not insecure, just realistic. It's not mean to rate her a 9 - she's VERY hot. To describe us... I'm 6'3, not great shape, slightly square shaped actually. Used to be more toned but it's gone. Dark hair and dark blue eyes. Glasses / contacts. Some people joked that I look like Harry Potter on steroids. She's 5'7, blonde, green eyes, amazing body, slim, tight butt, medium sized boobs... but what really makes her a 9 is that she isn't stuck up. She's so sweet with everyone. I really couldn't believe my luck when she showed interest in me Stop rating people by numbers. It's mean. That said, I suspect she likes you -- which is DUH -- why she agreed to go out with you. I really couldn't believe my luck when she showed interest in me Haha you think this is mismatched? Try being a short guy having a genuine hottie interested in you for the first time. I'm 5'6 and first started realizing that I'm attractive despite my height in high school. There was an extremely attractive popular cheerleader that took an interest in me. She told a mutual friend of ours that I was hot. I was in such disbelief that I almost punched him because I thought he was messing with me. To be honest, at 27, I'm still surprised at some of the girls that I get. So I totally get where you're coming from. Neither of us are traditionally attractive so it's very surprising to us when girls that are traditionally attractive become interested in us. Sh*t, I'm still not sure why they like me. 1
