flightplan Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Was wondering if anyone has ever tried this? I stumbled across a few videos on youtube (Rob's Hypnosis) Thought I would download the audio and load it on my phone so I could lay in bed at night. Maybe it would help speed up the process of letting go on a subconscious level. I've heard it can help reconcile the logical thoughts of why a relationship failed versus the emotional side of hanging on. Couldn't hurt.. don't see much downside. Anyway, going to give it a shot and will report back. Would like to hear if anyone else has tried this or have any recommendations.
jba10582 Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 The brain seems to believe what you reinforce it to believe, i.e. your five senses plus your interpretations of those senses...and in a way the language patterns of hypnosis is inducing relaxation (and positive thought loops) typically with body focus (warmth spreading relaxation ect..) much like mediation in some ways, but with a focused positive thoughts or outlooks on life. I had in the past looked at this especially the portion on self-affirmations, which I did find to be effective to program yourself to think more positively (as it is something you can do in your own mind daydreaming). I do not know the exact science (or psuedo-science) behind it but the brain apparently has difference states of consciousness i.e. delta, theta, beta, alpha, gamma in its functioning so some of those will get you into a lowered state of consciousness i.e. low beta high theta (i.e. around (6-8 hz)...which apparently slows your thoughts down much like some anti-depressant drugs. You can easily notice that many marketing firms employ these very tactics in their schemes, (albeit in much more ino devious ways) than the self hypnosis techniques of getting over a lost love.
somecamel Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 I just done one of the vids, pretty nice feeling:)
