Is this an opportunistic date or simply a girl interested in a hobby?

We've been teasing each other for a while now. A bit of play fighting but you get the drift. She found out I was a surf coach the other day and asked me to take her out some time for a lesson. I countered that she has to buy me lunch in exchange and she happily agreed. I've been getting message replies from her within the minute.

Funny thing is in class, we're quite playful and things until another female friend of mine ever turns up (she rarely does). Then this said girl goes quiet and awkward when I am teasing or mucking around with the other said girl.

So this is my question. It's not a 'does she like me' question that you guys are probably sick of, but rather, how do you decipher between whether a girl wants to hang out with you because she likes you or because she has an interest in a hobby and you just coincidentally were an instructor in that hobby? I'd hate to agree to this and then if I made a move only for her to counter that she just wanted to learn to surf!

You ask her to buy you lunch in exchange, and see if she happily says yes. Smooth move dude.

I don't get what you mean about the other girl turning up... give them names or letters or something so we know which you're talking about.

Obviously bud I would not let that happen but rather its my segway to getting a 'proper' date out of her.

Ok, so these classes are language classes I take (I have an overseas trip planned soon) and girl 1 (whom I'd initially become friends with first) rarely attends but every so often does and usually gathers my attention then while girl 2 (whom I am attracted to) kind of takes a back seat and goes quiet and awkward. We're all friends with each other but girl 2 acts as if she feels like the third wheel.

So the girl you're teaching to surf gets jealous when you start teasing and mucking around with another girl?... this is normal, jealousy! Wouldn't you be jealous if the girl you liked was teasing and mucking around with another guy right in front of you?

I think she likes you. I know, not what you asked. :p

Quit flirting with the other girl (mucking around) in front of this girl, unless you want to send a confusing message to the girl you like. Either she'll see the mucking around as you going for both of them, or that this is how you treat friends. Either way, it doesn't let her know how you feel about her, and this ultimately reduces the chances that she's going to reveal how she feels about you.

Use some touch during the lesson and see how she responds.

How about you just stop beating around the bush and ask the girl out on a proper date, see what she says!

Ahh k. Umm any help on how to organise this date then? I'd ask her out this weekend but imbseeing her at a competition we were all invited to this weekend. Should I just play it as is and ask her out next week then?

Thanks!
