I recently took up a job in a gas station working graveyard. There are 5 police guys that come in every night to take an hour lunch, just sitting in the store. One officer always comes to the counter and asks me very personal questions like what places do I go on on my day off, what gym I visit and where do I live..

He just stands and stared at me the whole time, seems shy and doesn't smile much. He tries to keep the conversation for as long as possible. Then when he leaves, he always parks his car behind mine outside for an hour.. Last time he parked his car do close to the window where I was working. I feel like I'm being stalked and a bit creeped out.

One more thing- he will visit me even when the guys aren't there. He doesn't do this with any of the cashiers that work graveyard as I already asked them,

Should I be worried? Is this guy stalking me?

Oh gee. Decades ago I used to work at one of those photo kiosks and I ended up quitting because of an officer like that. Worse, he demonstrated that he could get my address and phone number. I was married at the time too!

If I were you, I'd find a female police officer and approach her and ask about this problem. She'd be more likely to take you seriously and perhaps best advise you. I wonder if it's possible to get a restraining order against a police officer? That could help a lot, if he is stalking you. Maybe talk to a lawyer.

Bad enough to work jobs where there is possibility of robberies and crimes without having a policeman stalk you as well! I'd start looking for someplace else to work. Let us know how it turns out - I'm curious...

Report him! All you have to say is that his actions make you feel uncomfortable and unsafe. Remember to mention the lengths of time that he spends at your job....his superiors will want to be aware if that.

My ex is a cop and his buddies used to do the same thing to girls they were interested in. It's so bizarre....I truly believe that MANY not ALL cops have a screw loose. Definitely some type of personality disorder that makes them feel entitled to act anyway they please...

This is not stalking. It might be creepy or annoying, but it isn't stalking.

You can always take the nuclear option and report him, but my position is that that is an inappropriate escalation, and not very nice. You might have misunderstood, and a report like that could really screw him, especially if his wife or girlfriend found out.

Do you have a boss or coworker who could speak with him and tell him to stop being creepy? That is absolutely the best and easiest thing to do, if you want to get him to bugger off.

You could also just talk to him directly. A police officer isn't likely to freak out and actually harm you in any way, but he might be upset, so I could understand why you wouldn't want to do this.
