Author MightyHeracross Posted March 5, 2014 Author Posted March 5, 2014 There is nothing wrong with asking to add her on Facebook She is out if state; you have nothing to worry about! Yeah, I suppose that is true. I mean, I guess there is no harm done. Im worried if I ever see her again at a similar type of thing, will it be awkward? I just don't know that.
Author MightyHeracross Posted March 7, 2014 Author Posted March 7, 2014 Hi. I haven't heard from anyone on this in a while. IM still nervous about it, id like some more help, I guess.
ctxinfl Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Help with what? We can't friend her on Facebook for you. We can't initiate contact for you. There is nothing else anyone can say. It's up to you now. 1

I know that sounds lame, but thats what it is. And I'm worried about making a fool out of myself and then having to see her again at another family/friend event or something.
babycakees Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 True. Im just not good at talking to people, so I guess I'm just looking for someone who is good at it to kinda walk we through it lol. I know that sounds lame, but thats what it is. And I'm worried about making a fool out of myself and then having to see her again at another family/friend event or something. OK. Look. Here's what you do. Friend request her. If she approves it (which she probably will), message her a few days later. Start out by saying, "Hey. How have you been?" Go from there. Like everyone else said, you are waaayyy overthinking this. It's not complicated at all. It's a simple conversation on FB. Women like a man who is confident. So, just take it natural like you would talk with one of your friends. At this point, you should of already sent the request. You are wasting precious time.
deathandtaxes Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Man up, OP! You get better at talking to people.....by talking to people! Quit thinking, START DOING! How hard is it to send a friend request?
Author MightyHeracross Posted March 8, 2014 Author Posted March 8, 2014 Man up, OP! You get better at talking to people.....by talking to people! Quit thinking, START DOING! How hard is it to send a friend request? Yeah, you're right. Its not hard to send a friend request. I just like to figure out the worst possible outcome before I actually do anything. That way, I can plan a way to not let it happen. Usually for me, the way to not let the worst possible outcome happen is to not proceed with doing anything.
babycakees Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Yeah, you're right. Its not hard to send a friend request. I just like to figure out the worst possible outcome before I actually do anything. You STILL haven't sent this friend request?!
Author MightyHeracross Posted March 8, 2014 Author Posted March 8, 2014 You STILL haven't sent this friend request?! Lol no :/ Im a worrier Just listen to some of the $#!T that I get worked up about with this... What if... - She has a BF? - It gets weird between us? - I see her at another family/friend event thing and its awkward? Thats just some of the stuff that could go wrong, in my opinion.
babycakees Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Dude...honestly, at this point forget it. You've already talked yourself out of it. 1
Author MightyHeracross Posted March 8, 2014 Author Posted March 8, 2014 Dude...honestly, at this point forget it. You've already talked yourself out of it. I can't do that. I don't like quitting with things. Thats part of my nature. I refuse to quit with literally everything. I won't put an end to anything. And I just can't quit thinking about her.
deathandtaxes Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 If you spend all your time worrying about what and how things can go wrong, you will find that you never actually do anything. It's called taking a chance in life. If you never take a chance, you will never live. If you read this and within one minute don't send her a fb friend request, it's game over.
Author MightyHeracross Posted March 9, 2014 Author Posted March 9, 2014 If you spend all your time worrying about what and how things can go wrong, you will find that you never actually do anything. It's called taking a chance in life. If you never take a chance, you will never live. If you read this and within one minute don't send her a fb friend request, it's game over. Well, I haven't sent it YET. That doesn't mean I won't. But why do you say its game over?
deathandtaxes Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Well, I haven't sent it YET. That doesn't mean I won't. But why do you say its game over? Game over because you don't have it in you to send a simple friend request. After all the advice and encouragement we on this board have given you and you still make excuses to not do it. Why not? Change starts now.
Author MightyHeracross Posted March 10, 2014 Author Posted March 10, 2014 Game over because you don't have it in you to send a simple friend request. After all the advice and encouragement we on this board have given you and you still make excuses to not do it. Why not? Change starts now. You're right. Just curious, how old are you?
deathandtaxes Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 You're right. Just curious, how old are you? I'm 35. I'm giving you some **** because you need some prodding.
clia Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 I don't understand what the big deal is. Just send her a friend request.

Author MightyHeracross Posted March 10, 2014 Author Posted March 10, 2014 I'm 35. I'm giving you some **** because you need some prodding. Just so long as you're not some little kid who's ****ing with me lol. Would you mind if I PMed you? There are some more details and you seem to be the one helping me the most here
Author MightyHeracross Posted March 10, 2014 Author Posted March 10, 2014 I don't understand what the big deal is. Just send her a friend request. Even though we have ZERO mutual friends? not exaggerating. ZERO.
ltjg45 Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Even though we have ZERO mutual friends? not exaggerating. ZERO. And? If you like her as much as you said you do, you would have contacted her by now.
Author MightyHeracross Posted March 10, 2014 Author Posted March 10, 2014 Get on with it and friend request her ! u have nothing to lose xx Again, we have no mutual friends... And? If you like her as much as you said you do, you would have contacted her by now. Well, I do, but theres something screaming not to
clia Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Even though we have ZERO mutual friends? not exaggerating. ZERO. YOU MET HER AND TALKED TO HER IN PERSON. Who cares how many mutual friends you have on Facebook? It doesn't matter!
Author MightyHeracross Posted March 10, 2014 Author Posted March 10, 2014 YOU MET HER AND TALKED TO HER IN PERSON. Who cares how many mutual friends you have on Facebook? It doesn't matter! True, but its not like I know anything about this girl... its not like we really talked much at all. We just kinda met. However, I still have a strong feeling about her
1908 Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 I've been in your position when I was younger. Don't let the fear control you. It's extremely counter-productive. You'll end up wallowing in self-pity if you don't do anything as opposed to doing something and possibly failing. At worst, you can be proud of yourself for trying. "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take" Send the friend request. Send a message. Go from there. 3
