So i got out of a 3 year relationship about a year and a half ago and I am finally ready to get back out there. I didn't want to rush into anything too quickly, but I have been dating this guy for 3 months now. He's super nice and sweet, and my friends really like him. But I honestly cant see it being a long term relationship. We both agreed that it won't last and we both just want to enjoy the experience together. Basically, I want kids, he doesnt and I am Christian & he is atheist. My family doesn't want me seeing him (long story) but I can handle that.

So I went out with some friends last night and I talked with a guy. After I left the bar, my friend told him that I am seeing someone & I am frustrated because I guess I don't want that label and I want to meet people and date around. I know it might sound selfish...I don't know what to do, I don't want my friends thinking that I am selfish and I don't want to hurt the guy I'm dating. Does this make any sense?? I need advice...

yea the guy I am dating is great, but some of our differences are going to effect our relationship in the long run. I could see myself being friends with him if he would be ok with that.

yes we are sexually active...

Your friend is a terrible wingman. If you see the guy again just tell him your dating someone but your open to dating other people as well.

The way u feel is not selfish it is actually very understandable after a LTR but where it does become selfish is holding on to him ... let him go and go and enjoy your new found freedom xx

Two things:

1. Have you approached him about being FWB?

2. Who is the friend who shot you down? That seems like a pretty rude thing to do.

And on a totally separate note....how can you be Christian if you are having sex out marriage? I am an atheist/agnostic......and I just find it amusing how many people that claim to a christian or catholic never seem to be following the rules of their faith.

She's probably only having oral or anal sex. Where I'm from people use these loopholes to keep from having "sex" out of marriage. On a side note as an atheist I also find it amusing.

to clarify the separate question, everyone is entitled to believe what they want, spirituality is a very personalized thing. I have my own beliefs, and I do not believe that sex out of marriage is sinful. That doesn't make me any less of a Christian.

My friends like us together and I think that they have assumed that we are serious, i need to clarify things with them & talk to him about what he wants and how he will feel if I date other people. If it is going to hurt him, I think it'd be best to let him go.
