We go to university together but met at work first (student job). I'd asked her out before but she flaked. Mixed signals was all I had been getting. As such I did not take her seriously. I know she cares dearly about me as I do her but that is probably where it stops. One could consider this as that bestfriendship that develops and my idiotic development of feelings for her dotted with very many pockets, scenarios or moments where things might proceed into more.

For some reason, my realisation things would never go ultimated one day at work and as such I started treating her like I do others i.e. withdrawing my attention (and maybe a bit more), no kino and just keeping things pleasant. She instantly picked up on it (within the hour basically!) and was following me all day trying to figure out why. I just played it off. Got home from work and she has sent me a text (she has rarely initiated anything).

So what do I do from this point onwards? I know she is young maybe inexperienced, of age but only just out of secondary school about to attend university. I on the other hand have a few years on her. She is the one whom will plan, say we'll do things but never commit.

Back in the days, my unrequitted love would drag me through eons of heartache but I've changed. I don't care as much anymore and will move if so. I guess this is the first time I've let myself be more emotionally open to someone and am not sure what to do now.

I hate it when a guy who seems nice and friendly, stops treating me nice and friendly the minute I refuse to go out with him..

I don't know why, but it hurts. We girls/women if we consider you friends, it's not something bad, it's not like if you didn't get in her pants that's it for you.....

I'm just saying it hurtsssssssssss and it's upsetting too

someone you consider a nice friend, to leave you like that just because you don't love him the same way.....

I know you have your share of pain and you are only protecting yourself from getting too much into her, but I'm just trying to tell you her side of the story.

Sounds like you're really into her and she likes attention.

Definitely drop her and meet new women....or this will cause you a lot of heartache.

^^ Ummm I still treat her the same - friendly just like everyone else now. How I did before was clear enough to let her know I liked her but she played coy many a times and simply lapped up the attention. I'm through with being the nice guy chasing and don't see why I should keep things up so I don't step on egg shells. I'm still a good guy after a good girl and a relationship but I am not going to sell myself out anymore. Life is not fair - you cannot have the cake and eat it too.

Cheers Maxx, exactly.

Solid revelations here, my friend. If you stick to them, you will have more success and will be living a happier life.

Once you do this, she wornt be able to resist you, she'll want that old thing back. I'm not saying to play games with her. I'm telling to to just move on
