mpolitt Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 I like to get creative with themed dates from time to time, but am having trouble with my latest idea. I've been thinking of something like a flashback to the typical date in high school. Might be hard considering I didn't have any dates in high school... Any ideas?
Chalkdust89 Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Movies, bowling, and walking around the mall until your parents picked you up. 1
TheNewMe2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Figure out a Country you both would love to travel to (or her) - plan on a dinner at that type ethnic restaurant and then some activities that might be akin to their cultures or go see an 'artsy' movie from or about that country.

Author mpolitt Posted February 24, 2014 Author Posted February 24, 2014 Thanks! Both of those ideas give me something to work with.
Chalkdust89 Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 If you are not totally focused on doing the high school thing and want to do something creative, I recently found out about an event called Painting With a Twist that they do in different areas. It's a one night art class where they teach you how to paint something (each night has a different painting that you can look at online ahead of time) and you get to take your canvas home. It's 18 and over and you can bring your own wine. I don't know if you consider yourself artsy, but I think it would be fun as heck to do as a date idea. It's very unique, you can either make it in to a fun competition or joke about how unartistic you are, and both of you get a souvenir to take home with you (which is cool as long as the date goes well) I'm sure you could find a way to incorporate that into a themed night?
StanMusial Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Think of something you are good at and work it into the date. Skiing, shooting, riding horses, hiking, exploring, swimming, fishing.
Hopeful30 Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 I would imagine that the typical date in high school would be he picks you up after school (from school or from home) and takes you to the movies. I suppose the movies are the most appropriate high school dates. It's affordable and you're not old enough to get into bars or some fancy lounges. Both live with their parents so you can't go back to anyones place, but the movies everyone loves, its dark, you can put your arm around him etc etc
