mortensorchid Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 I have always been one of those people since I was a kid who asks questions of others and trying to find answers. Why are we the way we are? Some of it could be explained with genetics and physical traits (eye color, height, etc.). But what makes us who we are as people? Our personalities? Who we are? Specifically, I wonder sometimes as to how it is that we all start off life as a blank slate and then we become who we are when we are adults. Think of it ... You look at a baby and think "that baby will grow up and become a Bad Boy with a drinking problem and who treats women badly". Or "This baby will grow up and become a trashy girl who will become a stripper or lashes out at others when she's angry with herself." Or "That baby will become a loving, giving person who will never do this or that." Ever think that? Why do we become who we are? Any thoughts on it?
Woggle Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Mostly it is the culture that people are raised in. If they live in a society where kindless, love and commitment are valued and treasured it is more likely that is where they will go. If they live in a society where being a bad boy or girl and treating the opposite like objects to be used is encouraged they are more likely to go that route. Bad boys are products of society. If are society did not reward people like that there would be less of them. 1

I really thought they would make something of themselves. Unfortunately, many of them focused on going to the gym, getting tattoos, drugs, and crime. Now they have a record. I believe that in another era, these guys would have been extremely successful and productive members of society. Such a shame what our society has become.

You can be a bad boy and do it legally.
