If she is worth her salt she will pick up on your games. If you like her just be honest and try to build it up with her. If she is as great as you think it means she has options and if she thinks you are lukewarm about her ....

Games are a turn off. Lack of confidence - thinking you have to play games rather than be yourself - is a turn off.

I was very clear in being direct/showing interest and asked her out again the day after date. I'm not the one who started the games, I'm matching her response and response time.

I don't want to play games but noticed attractive girls do this naturally. Fighting fire with fire. She's young and hot, being the overeager guy showering her with interest is not going to work.

Here we go. So this is lack of confidence on your part.

You pulled away when the two of you kissed to see whether she would initiate. You gave it a day before responding. You think she was born yesterday? She will either think you are uninterested or don't want to look 'overeager' because you don't have the confidence to be yourself.

Perhaps she didn't respond straight away because she was sick? personally if I suggested Saturday instead of Friday and a guy didn't reply for a day and I hardly knew him I would start questioning how interested he was. This is just silly immature stuff.

Whats immature is not being adult enough to reject someone without lieing.

You are not responsible for another person's actions. IF she isn't sick but a flake, he will find out soon enough and should move on. When I'm seeing someone, I behave in a certain way because I have expectations towards the other person. If he doesn't match it and I'm satisfied that I'm wasting my time, I move on. I don't adjust my behaviour to match his game playing/immaturity/flakiness/etc. This isn't a competition. If you are not a match, move on.

Dating is very much a competition actually. (though not between those interested on another, but between those competing for a particular person)

And behavior adjustments and following someone elses lead happens all the time. Id say doing so helps people be more successful than not.

That is teasing, playful, and sexy in my perspective. Not sure how you like your romance, but i like to be exciting and playful with a sense of push and pull.

I responded based on her pattern. If it takes her 5 hrs to respond to my message when i send it at 6PM, I'm not going to text back in a minute.

I appreciate your advice Emilia, but I don't think it works for people of my generation.....mid-20s.

So for the update...the guys who advise me to not respond to her was spot on, we are flirting again at least.

Sounds like things are going well.
