I like this girl in my class and she's dropped all the hints that she likes me and I think i'm ready to make my move soon.

The problem is she's never alone, either with a friend or other people are sitting around her during break when she's sitting in class. Occassionally I get to walk with her alone and I make small talk with her. Is it okay to ask her for her number if other people are around or is it best to approach when i'm alone with her and ask for her number. I think I would be more comfortable one on one with no one around, but it's not easy to do that. If I do get her number do I just end it there and say thanks i'll call you sometime and leave???

Your help would be appreciated...

When you see her in class, casually ask her if she'd like to grab lunch with you somewhere that day. It would give you a chance to get to know her better and then ask her for her phone number. Good luck!

This is a good idea or if you have an afternoon class ask her if she wants to go grab a coffee or something like that. Make it something real casual at first and see how it goes from there.
