SarahJames Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 be able to wake up one morning and NOT immediately think of him. It's been a few months and he's still on my mind CONSTANTLY. I've had break-ups before, and sure they're tough, but usually by this point it was a thought here and there...NOT a daily occurrence. When do you reach the point where they don't phase you?
veritas lux mea Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 I don't know your story but it took me a yearish to not have some sort of longing for him. Now I don't even have the smallest for him or what we did. 1
Goodbye Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 I wish you the best. You really need to train your brain to think of other things. I've struggled with this, as I've posted endlessly on this site. For a few months I was doing quite well...it took a few weeks of NC (complete), and forcing myself each time I thought of him to change what I was doing. I equated it to a serious diet...when you start to dream of food...move a muscle, change something to make your mind go elsewhere. Over time you do get out of the "habit" of dwelling. In the meantime, your life slowly fills up with other things...not necessarily romance, but other things of substance that fill the void once occupied by the MM. It is a work in progress. 3
