First good luck Journey,

Second, I think it is the nature of OLD. I have women do the same to me. Indicate interest, even talk on the phone with them. However when I try to set up a date, they are either busy, and suggest re-scheduling. Or, they then don't respond to the date request. It kind of sucks, but I don't have time to worry about it.

I'm a man in my early 50's, so I really don't play games anymore. If I just wanted to chat, I'd use message boards like this. I come here to chat and engage people, I'm on dating sites to get dates, and hopefully, find a relationship.

Good Luck! Keep us posted!

We hit it off. And talked some more online and he plans to contact me this evening for plans to meet again somewhere a little quieter (it was noisy where we met up).

I cancelled my plan to meet with another guy because he gave me no specified place or time to meet "in the mall" and just seemed a little half-a**ed about it. Didn't really want to go there and not know where to meet him or exactly what time. I figured he didn't seem that eager, so why should I be? Besides, I really wanted to spend more time doing my creative stuff today.

I was, however, polite and messaged him I wasn't coming as soon as I made up my mind (more than six hours ahead - he would have been coming from work). I got back a message to let him know if I wanted to try again. I said I would. I might do that when some time has passed. It just doesn't hit me right to be "convenient" to someone for a first meetup. Plus he didn't want to meet at a coffee place because "he doesn't drink coffee". (They DO have lots of other choices!!!) I wanted to be somewhere I was comfortable and familiar with. The local mall isn't that place. (Not to mention undertones of a bad event that happened there within the last year...)

Looking forward to seeing the first guy again soon. :-D

Great! Glad to hear it went well. That is too funny about the other guy..."in the mall". Wow great effort on his part, lol. Good for you for going with your gut on that one. And I'm glad you had a good time with the other guy.

OP for future reference.

Flakes are just not that into you. Keep it moving and find other prospects when people dont show interest.
