Under the advisement of my therapist, she asked me to read "The Secret". It is basically about the Law of Attraction.

Im curious as to how many of you know about it and believe in it. I have been reading up on it and it kind of confuses me.

For example, the more you think and believe in something it is attracted back to you. I read an article that says that if you want to attract a specific person into your life you need to think and believe they will be there, yet it also says you should focus on what make YOU happy. Actually be ok with that person NOT being in your life and you will attract them. HUH?????

Confused. Not sure if I believe in it. Would love your thoughts or opinions on the matter.

What it boils down to....is the theory that everything in our existence is connected. We are made of matter. Other things in our universe are made of matter. Matter is energy. So technically the atoms in our body are in connection with the atoms in the air around us, which are connected to the air around other people.

So if you are happy....in theory your happy vibes radiate out and others pick up on it.

The layman's explanation......if you are happy with your life, the chances are greater that someone will notice that, and be attracted to you.

Would you rather hang out with someone that is fun to be around...or someone that is a miserable bump on a log?

Do you believe it has worked for you? BTW, I can always look like Im having a great time when I could be sad inside. Dont you think they see this and be attracted as well?

I have never tried it. I am more realistic with who I am and how I act. So even though I know what the book is about, I refuse to partake in it.

Most people are not all that perceptive. Especially most men when they are looking for a date. They are usually busy with their agenda rather than reading whether or not you are being real.

There's a difference though, "acting happy" and "being happy" are two different things...not saying people can see thru a front, but people give off energy, like a vibration...a silent song. We pick up on wavelengths. Someone harboring a negative vibe will attract others feeling the same.

Some of it is "fake it till you make it" though.

I notice a huge difference in behaving/acting happy vs. being happy.

For example, once some truly good things start happening in my life, I seem to attract more of it...where as, just trying to convince myself that things could be worse and life is good- I seem to maintain the status quo in that respect.
