theothersully Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 For those that may have seen my threads on long distance relationships being expensive and asking to see what a couple of girls who were texting me were thinking, this is an update. A great update!!!!! Girl #1, The 22 yr old (23 tomorrow) from Miami is still trying to hang out, but I feel like she is using me. I have been losing interest for a while. Girl #2, The 19 yo old (turning 20 next month), who I said I liked best, had her phone disconnected and was kind of expensive to fly in for dates has just become my girlfriend! Very happy, because she is who I liked best. She will probably be moving to the same area as me at some point soon, so those LDR expenses will go down. It was just as steep here as it was in NYC though. $1500 for a trip. Here is what we did... She flew in and we drove out to Key West. Went out to the bars and explored the area. Stayed in a cabin at Bahia Honda State park. Rented a Hobie cat on a nice, windy day, but got caught in a downpour during the last 10 mins of the rental. Rather than ruining things, it really did something to intensify our connection and confirmed my belief in how cool she is. She took a complete soaking like a champ and laughed it off. Pretty amazing compared to most of the girls i know. Then we went and got a room at the best party spot in South Beach. Unfortunately, it rained badly all night, killing the party. We still went down to the club/bar and had a few drinks together. It was pretty dead, so after a while, we went back up to the room and I DJed while we danced and had our own party. End of the story is, I chose girl #2, the younger, more emotionally mature one and had the most fantastic time. We are giving a relationship a go and time will tell how it turns out. Very happy! I will be off of here (in part due to the unbelievable number of mean posters in my thread the other day) and so I can concentrate on work and nurturing my new relationship.
