Stop Chasing Someone Who?s Not Choosing You Back!

This part resonated with me: "I also challenge you to be honest about how much you truly value commitment. If you are chasing after someone who does not want to commit and judging that the other person has fear of commitment, look in the mirror. If you truly value commitment, why are you going after someone who doesn’t?"

Thoughts? I will be trying to think of anything but her tomorrow.

Hey Forever_lost,

I didn't click the link just yet but what you've quoted is pretty spot on. It's something I came to realize about myself and something my dad's pointed out to me.

People who fear commitment will sometimes chose people who are bad for them or also fear commitment.

Case in point: I told my dad marriage scared the hell out of me, that "being tethered to one person" and "staying bound with them via legal contract" was weird to me and that one day I could wake up and feel different.

My dad was pretty taken back by what I said. My parents are not married, but they are together and have been for almost 30 years (they were both out of crappy marriages) so I still don't see a need for it. But I think the way I reacted to it came off as a red flag to my dad. He pointed out that the reason I get with "bad boys" or guys younger than me is because I know if I wanted out, I'd have a reason...or they would do the deed first.

That in itself taught me more about why I do things and why I need to work on myself. Not sure if the video insinuated the same thing, but that line you provided definitely is one I've been focusing on in my healing (and the reason I'm staying single for awhile)
