And yes I do know that I won't be working for that agency again. Actually, the as yet and now do not have a case for me anyway. I think there are a couple of hundred certified home care agencies in the New York City area so I'm betting I won't starve.

I don't think women reject you because of your age. It's your lack of common sense. You might get a woman under forty (most of them are fat, by the way) if you were rich. But you are a home health care aide.

"See my last reply. As a representative of an agency that reports to the state, this woman can make it out to be anything she wants it to be. You're missing BOTH points here."

This agency never gave me a case. Can she claim that I abused, neglected or robbed a patient which I never had??

In any case this was not a business related conversation or email. It was on a personal level one acquaintance to another.

you OVER-STEPPED A LINE!! Accept this, and suck it up! She felt it completely inappropriate - as do most of us here! Why are you just not getting this???

It's not like I emailed an employer my resume with an underpants photo attached to prove what great shape I'm in and how hard I'll work.

And why would you not do this, I wonder?

It's like a neighbor would ask me if I want to meet some girls and I sent her this photo.

It's nothing of the kind.

How well did you really know this woman? have you mowed her lawn, gone round for a BBQ and been out with her as a buddy a few times?

Again, I am trying to understand this. The same image in these situations:

giant underwear advertisement billboard: no problem

Impersonal, there for a purpose, unconnected and completely appropriate to the purpose.

walking around the beach full of families and little kids: no problem

Ditto.

emailing to a middle aged woman who I'm slightly acquainted with regarding her offer to get me dates: INCREDIBLY RUDE SEXUALLY PERVERSE ALMOST CRIMINAL*

She didn't ask for it, was not expecting it and given the mature of your required employment, raised several red flags for her.

Can someone decode that for me? What exactly am I missing?

That you're being extraordinarily dense as well?

I would think the opposite might be a little questionable: should an employment agency manager try to play matchmaker with workers? Is that wise and/or professional?

How do you absolutely know for a fact that this is what she was doing?

Maybe she was just getting a better idea of your character, temperament, likes, dislikes, aims, objectives... at no time, did she say - 'tell you what, send me a photo of you, I'll see what I can do about hooking you up with some ladies' did she?

No, she can only forward the email on to the state if she feels it signifies a deeper problem with your overall character that would make you a danger to clients.

So yea, you're home free! Carry on.

OK, now I got. So if I invest in a huge billboard with my photo in underpants and my phone number asking hot single women to call me, that's fine, because it would satisfy these qualifications. Impersonal, there for a purpose, unconnected and completely appropriate to the purpose.

But email the same photo to let's say a neighbor who I met just a half hour ago and I discussed my dating life with, no good. That's directed to and connecting with one person and only a pervert would do that.

Well now I've got it. Thanks.

Now I know why you're in your 50's and single.

I bet that was it. Like in a James Bond movie, she was going to set me up with some young blonde Russian sexpot who would then spy on me. I'm probably getting a little slow with age; I never would have caught that.

You couldn't wear tight, low rider jeans to show off your body? You probably only own those high-waisted, pleated pants that come up under your armpits. Well, then posing in your underpants would be understandable.

Actually, why don't you do just that?

Wouldn't the responses you get be interesting?

well done - you got it in one.

Well now I've got it. Thanks.

no problem, glad I could help.

Always happy to help someone see just where they've been a bit of an idiot....

yeah, but James Bond deserved it... let's face it. he's the epitome of the uber-active, action-packed hunky sexpot daredevil..

do YOU match that description, or are ypu more this type?

In*New York State, a conviction (not merely an arrest) for "punching someone out" (assault in the third degree, a class A misdemeanor) would apparently not disqualify you from being a home health aide, at least according to my reading of the statutes.

Where you live can anyone write to the Department of Health claiming that he has a "feeling" that you have "deep character problems" and you can be disqualified?? Seriously, I'm curious. I bet a lot of disgruntled ex-spouses and ex-boyfriends or girlfriends, nasty neighbors, etc could have fun with that.

No one likes an old pervert. I mean, I can't imagine how any woman would find that appealing. You can be in perfect shape, but that kind of stuff spells pedophile or creepy old pervert. You should have worn a nice suit to show your sophistication. Younger women like that.

And they probably do.

And she may well use that photo against you.

Consequences, buddy. Consequences.

And let me tell you, your defence sounds ridiculous.

Don't ever show this thread to anyone as mitigation.

Just to pre-empt any further foolish action on your part.....

By the way, if, when you criticize someone for being extremely rude, you yourself are extremely rude, could that be considered a little bit hypocritical? Or does being anonymous on this forum make it OK?

Why you would take the chance? You see what happens when spouses make allegations.

Why mess with your livelihood? Don't you pay child support?

Nobody's been rude to you.

we've all tried to tell you what you did was completely wrong.

Yet every time anyone has tried to show you the error of your ways, you've rebuffed, justified and used sarcasm to argue.

All to no avail.

If people use sarcasm back, you can't blame them.

Do you get it yet?

"And they probably do."

In New York State underwear pics, or even being a full scale porn actor, aren't in the rule book and I don't think even Loveshack members can change that. Sorry.

No, but 'inappropriate behaviour' probably is.

That kind of behaviour can get you into a world of trouble.

"Why you would take the chance?"

States have rules about these things. In NYS, for example, you can't have your drivers license suspended because someone wrote to the DMV that he's got a feeling you have a dangerous character. Maybe where you live he can. I don't know.

Posted

So this is the first time anyone has pulled you up about inappropriate behaviour?

A man of your age and experience should know by now what is acceptable and what isn't.

I mean, walking on a beach in your swimwear, during the summer, when there's a whole beach-ful of people dressed the same way, is fine.

Apperaing on someone's phone scantily clad when theat's the last thing they're expecting, is completely a different thing.

What if she has a young daughter who looks at her phone?

Bit of an inappropriate eyeful, isn't it?

Have you been married?

Do YOU have kids at all?

How would that sit with you?

Oh, OK. I thought this was rude:

"Always happy to help someone see just where they've been a bit of an idiot...."

but apparently it's not and I'm sure you include comments like that when you email your boss. If not, then start now. Tell me how he likes being "politely" shown the error of his ways.

Posted

I have called my boss a dickhead, a moron and a jerk - and yes, an idiot. All in good fun and taken in the nature it was intended.

Sending a selfie of yourself, clad in only your underpants to a virtual complete stranger, is really quite an idiotic thing to do.

But you're not getting it.

Could you answer my questions?

I can't help feeling you're being a bit selective about your responses.

What if her daughter opens the the New York Times or a clothing catalogue and sees much more of an eyeful in an underwear advert?

Again, I don't know. Is this just a New York City thing that these kinds of photos are allowed in public but in Iowa or Idaho its a crime?

BTW, her only child is in her 30's.

He's being completely selective in his answers. Only pointing out the law of the land. Not the fact that he lacks total common sense for a man of his age. Which leads me to believe this whole thing is fake.
