My bf, weve been dating for four months mentioned it one time when we were talking. He said " if we were going to get married I want us to continously communicate openly, maintain our freedom, spend time with family and friends etc. He is an awesome bf. At the least you know he is contemplating a future and is possibly seeing you in that light. It's also an indication that he is enjoying the relationship and hoping that if it all works out between you two, this is how he would hope the relationship will be. Link to post Share on other sites

Maybe he was gauging your reaction because you already told somebody no before and thinks you're afraid of commitment or against marriage as an institution. So what did you say back? Only for them to disappear the very next week. Not saying your man is fake at all. Just saying words are just words it's actions that count. You should be able to tell that pretty quickly, and much sooner than four months 2) The kind who is contemplating a future with you. I think he is the second type. I do agree with the rest of the responses, that doesn't mean he's ready to propose. But he's taking you seriously - maybe more or the same as you are. If you might consider a future with him - this is a good thing. I don't think guys randomly say 'if we get married...' In fact that is something a guy really has to contemplate saying - particularly if he has any self-awareness and doesn't want the woman to go running if he's wrong about where the relationship is. 1 Link to post Share on other sites

My ex disappeared after a month of telling me how head over heels he was for me anx how he thought we could have something special due to his very strong feelings he had for me from day one and even before we met.
