Thank you, you're very right.

Update. We had a great night last night...he bought a toothbrush for me to keep at his house and a loofah. He said he didn't put a lot of thought into it but that he feels I am apart of his life and I should have something at his place that is his...this is looking pretty good.

Then we started talking about the relationship a little. He said he wanted to think about it more, that he has struggled transitioning from married to divorced single parent all at once and he hasn't really been thinking about getting into a relationship at all. But he also said that it makes sense and he is not opposed to it and he will think on it more to make sure he feels it is something he can handle right now and will get back to me.

Thanks for everyone's insight, some of it was very helpful :). Things are looking up now.

He sounds like he's stalling for even more time... buying somebody a toothbrush is the easiest and most meaningless thing in the world, it is not a sign of commitment, it takes seconds to trash those things. My new boyfriend of two weeks has a toothbrush here because we always stay at mine and I had a spare new one which I gave him the first night he stayed over. You deserve better than a toothbrush after five months :\

But the thing that stood out the most is the 'it makes sense and I'm not opposed to it', he is not saying 'I want it' at all. He really doesn't want to be with you, OP. If someone says about the potential to be with me 'it makes sense' and STILL had to think it over after 20 weeks (and told me straight they weren't really looking for a relationship) I would walk, you really deserve so much more than this guy. Find a guy who is over the moon just to be walking down the street holding your hand and who can't wait to introduce you to his friends and family.
