I started dating this girl, and her, like a lot of girls I date, like to talk about work. Me on the other hand, don't really have a desire or a lot to talk about regarding work, yet she always asks me about it. It this normal? Do women typically like to talk about work more than men?

Umm, no.

Women don't like to talk about work more than men. However, women are under the assumption that it's easier to talk to men about work as opposed to shopping, clothes, or feelings (which are things they'd probably talk about with other women.)

Most likely, she asks about work because she believes that you either A) have an interesting job or B) you enjoy your job very much or C) she really doesn't know that much about you to talk about other topics with you (like whether you collect comic books or what hobbies you enjoy, etc). This is easily remedied by doing more stuff together so you can talk about your shared interests and activities.

Good luck!

I think one thing my exes have in common is that they are all passionate about what they do and they talk about it. I talk about my job too because I don't view it as something that just pays my wages. Some of them run a business, are in the military, looking to move up in the career ladder, etc. Even when I worked with the guy I was seeing we talked about work and it didn't bother either of us, I helped him out a fair bit in one important aspect of it. I don't get what the big deal is.

I usually ask about work because I'm curious about what a guy does for a living, it says a lot about someone where they choose to spend 40 hours a week for a living, it's a good conversation topic if you're getting to know one another as you can both contribute, learn about what you love and hate about the jobs, find out about future plans and ambitions, find out which interests you have outside of work that relate to your working life, learn about someone's education level and so forth.

It's not that I'm interested in his work, I'm interested in the guy. And his work is a huge part of his life so I want to learn all about that, too.

If I were a girl and looking for more than a one night stand, someone who doesn't take pride in their professional life = major turnoff.

My woman and I talk about work a lot because we are in completely different fields and we like to learn about things we are unfamiliar with. Perfectly normal. A good match is when you can talk endlessly about EVERYTHING. My woman and I see each other practically every night, and we can't stop chatting. The only time we would stop talking is when her breasts are smothering my mouth or when my penis is in her mouth. It's great. :)
