Mary3 Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Is it normal for someone to commit to another person after ONE date ? Does that sound like *desperate * action ?

birdstealingbread Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 It depends on a lot of factors...how well you know each other, and how long, among other things. I know a lot of people who have mutually considered themselves committed before they even had a "real" date. Give us a few more details? But if you're finding it scary or desperate, then yeah, it's probably too soon.
ziggue Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 If you knew eachother before hand and wanted to see how things went after one date no. If you had just met and went on one date then maybe. Especially if they don't leave you alone.
Pocky Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 My husband and I were committed after the first date.

My husband and I should have been committed after the first date! I guess in a way we were, marriage IS an institution after all! LOL. I agree with BSB & ziggue
Groovy Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Just be sure the guy isn't saying he's committed to get into your pants quickly. That's an old trick so make sure you hear it for a while. If he really means it he won't mind waiting.
