True Gent Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Tonight I unexpectedly received a bread crumb text from the ex. She just said how guilty she is feeling about the way she handled the breakup and she knows she caused me unnecessary pain with her behaviour which I didn't deserve. She also says she really loved me and the guilt is really getting to her. I'm not going to respond to it, I know it's meaningless but it's good to know there is a conscience there somewhere. I'm getting settled into my new house and I'm strangely happy about my singledom at the moment. I really think me getting out of our old house is working wonders for me 4
devastated777 Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Sorry Gent. I know it is painful. That's awesome news! and you are handling it very admirably! I can only hope that mine will eventually feel the same. I am still shocked when I reflect back on our times; we were best friends. then, he just did a 180. I'm still shocked an it's been almost 4 months. I'm doing well but you sound like you are a true boss! kudos!! 1

It'll let the guilt build up inside her even further because you're choosing not to relieve that for her. That's what she's looking for. 2
veggirl Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 I don't know your story but typically if a dumper has to apologize for their behavior, they don't deserve to be dignified with a response. So good on you, keep up NC, that's great you are feeling so much better--I know it's always odd when you start feeling good or okay about everything, like the feeling may disappear at any moment or something. I hope it doesn't 1
Author True Gent Posted February 7, 2014 Author Posted February 7, 2014 Thanks for the support guys. Yeah she she does feel the need to apologise because she treat me like dirt at the end of our time together. I won't be relieving her guilt it can eat away at her, I just want to get on with my life now. This week has been my best week since the breakup and I'm enjoying the good feeling while it lasts. It's all good right now. 1
