My girl who is a few years my younger 5 year difference told me she has had 3 previous relationships. One that was 4 years and one that was 3 and one that was 2 1/2. I think I am being fibbed to because this would mean she would have had to start dating when she was 12. Should I confront her about this? Do women sometimes fib to make themselves sound more experienced when dating an older guy? I am a little confused with this one. Maybe my opinion on serious and hers differ?
acrosstheuniverse Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I'd just say 'wait... surely that means you started dating when you were 12? That can't be right?' and see what she says? Some people do actually begin 'relationships' that early, super innocent ones based on kissing and hand-holding usually but she may well consider something like that to be worth mentioning. I started dating at 14 so it's not unimaginable. Or maybe one of those was an affair, there was some overlap between relationships, who knows?

I am going to have to approach her about it. When I told her I started dating when I was 15 she said wow you started young so I would think she didn't.

I'm not that type of person either so I'm think from a relationship standpoint. I just consider it an odd thing to be lieing about. Wanted some opinions.

I'll just ask her how old she was when she started dating and when she say 16 or 17 ill just say how the heck did you have 10 years worth of relationships in that time if your only 23. and just laugh. She was 14 and a half when she began dating, not 12..... that's if the relationships ran consecutively. If they overlapped, she may even have been a bit older. Not unheard of... girls start much younger nowadays, and look older.... 1
