TylerC Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 Alright, Lauren has some good girl friends, which is totally cool with me, I'm glad she has friends. However, at a party or at school, when one of her friends starts talking with us, she will freak out and be like 'OH MY GOD ____!' and hug them. However, with me, it's kind of a nonchalant 'hey' and she will go back to whatever she was doing. This is very common with one of her friends in particular. I will be coming down from Latin to talk to her during passing period and I will often see she and Brittney hugging each other very tightly. If I get a hug at school, I don't even really feel like she means anything by it, it feels sort of empty. She even kisses Brittney on the cheek sometimes, and she asked if it bugged me and I said no. I've been thinking about it, and it just seems like her friends get more affection than I do. She said she wants me to talk to her about anything that's bugging me, but I don't want to seem controlling or anything. Advice please?
Pocky Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 I wouldn't make the comparison between you and her friends. I would just explain to her that you're affectionate and you'd like it if she could be more affectionate as well. Ask her if she feels uncomfortable being affectionate with you in public. You may be misinterpreting her responses to you. Maybe she gets a little embarrassed when showing you a lot of affection in public. Who knows really? Just talk to her.
Author TylerC Posted January 14, 2005 Author Posted January 14, 2005 She's definitely not uncomfortable with PDA, she's kissed me in school before.
alphamale Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 that is the way women are, dont' worry about it. now if she starts to do this to guys then be worried, very worried.
Pocky Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 Well make a joke about it. Something lighthearted so she gets the message but doesn't feel uncomfortable. "Hey! I'm your boyfriend - how come <insert female name> gets all your affection?" She should get the hit after that...
Author TylerC Posted January 14, 2005 Author Posted January 14, 2005 Thanks for the advice, but I talked to her today and she said that's just how she is with her friends. I did notice an increase in affection, though. =) I love being able to talk to her so easily.
