lovelylady17 Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 I just want to know if anyone thinks its possible to be in love with two men or women at once???
Leaf Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 I personally dont think so. I think you can "love" many people. But only truly "in love" with one. I think yu can be infatuated with more than one person at a time, but not "in love".
Pocky Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 I once thought I was in love with two men at the same time. Looking back now I realized that I only truly loved one, but was in love with the idea of what the other one represented.
Owl Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 Take a look through this forum and through the Infidelity forum...this was a subject of another thread recently. I agree with Leaf...I think you can "love" more than one person at a time...but you can't be "in love" with more than one person. It's almost impossible for most people to emotionally invest themselves with TWO significant others. I know my wife couldn't do it, even at the pinnacle of her affair.
midori Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 Originally posted by Pocky was in love with the idea of what the other one represented. Such a key distinction, whether we're talking about loving more than one person at a time, or the reasons we have for loving -- or thinking that we love -- any person.
scarletibis Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 I'm in agreement with Leaf. I think it's very possible to love more than one person at a time, and certainly to care very deeply for more than one person at a time, but only be truly "in love" with a single individual. At least I know I couldn't. Being in love is pretty intense emotionally, and I just don't have it in me to be able to try and experience it with more than a single person at a time. I think it would be too emotionally taxing on me. I personally wouldn't even want to try.
