Baumer Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 So I met a girl last weekend. Really hit it off, messaged early in the week about hanging out and she seemed eager. Exchanged a few over the week about specific plans and it continued. Great, Exclamation points, smiley faces, etc. Then a few hours before we were supposed to go out yesterday "something came up". Do I give up on her?
ja123 Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Did she apologize and offer another time/day? If not, move on. If yes, give it one more try. 2

Do I give up on her? You might have answered something like ...'hope all is well' and left it at that. Definitely leave it alone after that. I agree with JA123...move on if she doesn't add something of substance to her cancellation.
TXGuy Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 I agree with the above. A generic flake, particularly on the first date, is a deal-killer, unless it is accompanied by profuse apologies and make-up plans. Don't put another ounce of effort into her. She does not deserve it. If she is willing to carry the load from here on out, then you can decide whether you are willing to go out again. Or you can try again with her and learn the same thing first hand. I did that myself more than once. It never works out when they do this.
