We didn't spend the holidays together aside from some hours Xmas eve at my Mom's. Friday is her birthday, and she wants me to watch our son, while she goes out and has a great time..... I can work Friday nights which pays good...but should I watch our son for her, or make money?
RightThere Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 I always take my daughter when I have the opportunity. I don't want her to ever think she's anything less than a #1 priority with me. Sounds to me like this is more of a one-off (birthday) versus an every week type of occurrence. I would help your STBXW out and take your son. Plan something fun. Even if you hate your STBXW's guts, it seems like a "win-win" for you. 1

RightThere Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 How old? Maybe hit a rec centre (swimming pool) or any community centre often has activities. Hit the park, go for a little bike ride, see a movie. I started taking my daughter to the library. Let her pick some books then we've got good bedtime reading. Plan a dinner that he can help you prep and cook. Just don't sit infront of the TV all night with him. Get out and find something in your area.
