I'm gonna try a new coping strategy

My mind has been filled with so many things that last few days. I've been blowing up this forum with my thoughts and feelings on a break up, blind date, cheating, OLD etc. I'd like to believe that my sister's wedding, brother's engagement and cousin's baby shower all in the last 2 weeks have nothing to do with why I can't shake this feeling of failure in relationships but I'd just being lying if I denied it. So instead of letting those negative feelings get to me I'm gonna try focusing my thoughts on what I like about being single.

In no particular order:

1. If I don't feel like cooking a full meal, I don't have to.

2. I don't have to wash any underwear that doesn't belong to me.

3. If I wanna go to Thursday Trivia night with friends, boom, I go.

4. No one is accusing me of sleeping with my best friend's husband.

5. I can watch Netflix for as long as I want with out judgement.

6. I can see my family for every holiday

7. I don't have to listen to Lil Wayne

I'm gonna keep adding reasons when I'm down. Feel free to join me!

I discovered a good thing recently.

Once my bills are paid each month the money that's left over from my wages is ALL mine! She must of cost me a fortune, my bank balance hasn't been so good in years and I'm only approaching 2 months. :)

I like wearing high heels again.

We were the same height. . . LOL!

(although honestly, it never bothered me)

Maybe it would make me feel better to get some new stilettos :D

Finding out that I could walk in them without breaking an ankle and buying a pair worked wonders for me.

He'll never get to see or enjoy them. Another man will!

That helps too!

That's a great way to look at it!

Not to sound full of myself but I do look pretty damn good in them :D

I think I need to plan a shopping trip. Wish we could go together.

((hugs!!))

Because I'm still losing weight, though now in a healthy and non nutritionally depleted way, I have vowed to do the rest of my shopping until I'm at my target weight at places like Plato's Closet.

I'm tired of dropping money on clothes that get too big for me.

As far as a benefit of being single, I can have plenty of male friends and not have to worry that my man is going to get jealous.

I can take a bath or a walk in the park whenever I want to, and I can listen to and sing along guilty pleasure songs like The Gourd's Gin and Juice without fearing that he'd take it the wrong way and not see the extreme and obvious satire, or Bring on the Men from Jekyll and Hyde without him thinking that I'm the scarlet harlot of the West. :-). I don't think he would, but I don't think he'd find it terribly prim and proper, either!

8. No one comes into the bathroom to poop while I'm taking a shower. Well actually...my cat does that sometimes
