firefly2613 Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 I'm still feeling depressed just like I was in my last post. And just like I said in that post, when it rain it really DOES pour. I had my Facebook and Twitter deleted. I stopped checking up on her. And today I was scrolling through my Instagram (the only thing I have) and I see a friend of mine has liked a picture. I think wow that looks a lot like my ex...and sure enough it is her. She has CREATED an Instagram after all her junk about how Instagram was terrible and everything else. And now she has an Instagram. Even though I was doing so well in getting away from her it just came right up to haunt me... She didn't follow me or anything but she did follow an old account I created that has no followers, which means she actively searched for the damn thing and followed it. Her user name is something in relation to how she's married and I just don't understand... I was trying to get away from all this and it just keeps chasing me. I don't think I'll ever get better.
Onmymind Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 My best and simplest advice is to avoid all contact with social media. Ignore, block, delete, erase and evade my friend. It's not worth it to obsess with someone through a screen. I've come to realize it's even worse to obsess with someone who chose to be gone from your life. We can't control people, we have to accept things as they are and find happiness with someone who wants to share a true life with us. Not waste time obsessing over those too selfish or weak to preservere. 1

Not waste time obsessing over those too selfish or weak to preservere. That's great and all. I did. That's why I deleted my Facebook and deleted my Twitter and chose to keep my Instagram because I only have my college friends on there and I knew without a doubt that she did not have one. And now she's created one. And unfortunately, Instagram only allows you to block others from seeing you not you from seeing them. I was doing everything right and had to stumble on this wonderful little discovery.
chelsea2011 Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 I know how you feel. Social media, as fun as it can be, opens you up to garbage like this. Sometimes I feel like going back to communicating with friends and family the old way is the way to go. Especially when you have people in your life like your ex who insist on finding ways to jab you and reopen the wounds. Disconnecting from the social media and is starting to appear more and more like a peaceful vacation away from the "crazies" out there. A very welcomed one too!
Author firefly2613 Posted January 20, 2014 Author Posted January 20, 2014 Yes! I just wanted to keep up with my friends and move on in peace but now she pops up here. I think I just need to live on a desert island.

I would just keep Facebook and delete everything else, at least on FB you can control what you see and who sees you. Also FB is IMHO the most versatile and easy to manage social media site, alas the most addicting.
