regine_phalange Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 I gave you my love And you took it I gave you my love You said all you wanted just wanted to be free But now you say, you want me back It's a little too late for that I gave you my love, I was so good to you But, oh baby, who's crying now? Who, who? Who's hurting now? Babe, this wouldn't be the first time, it will not be the last time. There is no parasol that would shelter this weather. We were trying to believe that everything would get better. We've been lying to each other Hey! Babe! Let's just call it what it is! Oil and Water! 1

You had to sneak into my room 'just' to read my diary "It was just to see, just to see" (All the things you knew I'd written about you...) Oh, so many illustrations Oh, but I'm so very sickened Oh, I am so sickened now Haha, exactly. That's what I'm talking about.

I was just talking about her today with a friend. Ever since she's started "acting out" whatever she's doing, her music has gotten way better. I go from Wrecking Ball to Adore You all day.
mantlefan Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 "More than this" is one song I can't hear anymore (at least by now) My ex and I loved a movie where a cover of the song appears: Blah This movie changes my life every time I watch it. I stole the DVD from my sister. 1
HokeyReligions Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Thank God I'm a Country Boy ... John Denver Grandma's Feather Bed ... John Denver I Am a Rock .. Paul Simon Brother Love's Travelling Salvation Show ... Neil Diamond (from the Love at the Greek album) When I'm feeling g really melancholy it's I have a photograph. Long ago it must be ... I have a photograph that's all that's left you Some days I sink too far to climb out and I sit and I sob holding photos of my long-ago family until I pass out from misery and exhaustion. That song replays in my mind during those times. The others have so far, been able to lift me up the next day. They are memories of a time and place where my family wasn't. You know? 1
Mondmellonw Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 It's such a beautiful song. Time it was, and what a time it was, it was A time of innocence, a time of confidences Long ago, it must be, I have a photograph Preserve your memories, they're all that's left you
BDL Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 My ex of two years started having feelings for someone else. She hid her emotional affair from me, so I broke up with her when everything came out in the open. I went NC after I passed the shock, denial and anger phase of the breakup. It's been a struggle to find closure and reason. It's been almost two months of NC and I feel I have finally moved on. It helps that now I'm dating an absolutely GORGEOUS girl who is much better than my ex... more mature and respectful. The breakup was a blessing in disguise. I'm stronger and a better person coming out of the breakup. My ex went right into the next relationship, so she hasnt dealt with the breakup and the issues of why our relationship failed. She hasnt become a better person. I think when she finds out I'm seeing someone else, it will hit her like a ton of bricks. I'm certain she will try to contact me, and when she does, I will send her a link to this song which helped me find forgiveness and move on. Real36 Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 You Don't Know Me- Ben Folds and Regina Spektor Right after the break up I was listening to a lot of The Avett Brothers and Mumford Sons. Now it's mostly the Rap Anthems station on Songza. Strange evolution.
LovelyDaze Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 I woke up hearing this song and I actually endear this as the song(and day) I started to really get over my ex (2009). I smiled and had the best day I had in MONTHS at the time. Corny as it was haha: Cutting Crew "I've Been In Love Before" (1987) It reminded me that I have had a broken heart before and can survive it again.
headinthecloud Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Taylor Swift ...."cuz' we are never, never, ne-ver getting back together!" (lol)
mantlefan Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 F*ck It (I Don't Want You Back) by Eamon I know I already mentioned this in my list, but holy carp! It's a good song for me right now.
drallafi Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 The quintessential breakup song... Yea, it's long. But it's the best one I've ever heard.
carl777 Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 This one : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDehUgSvM0w Simple but effective
