have a best friend of 2 years who i am very close to and talk alot to... I did date him about 2 years ago very briefly but i broke it off... He is head over hills in love with me for the past 2 years and is very kind, caring, always there for me through thick and thin,nice, occasionally quite funny, very attractive, nice body, not bad in the hay if you know what I mean and everyone in my family thinks he is great and wants to me to be with him. everyone says why dont you go with him.. he is so good to you... blah blah bah.. Why do i not want to be with him...? I cant even answer it myself? if you seen my other post I am hurting atm from a break up with my boyfriend who is treating me quite bad but yet my best friend loves me and would never treat me like that but i dont want him. wats wrong with me.. I honestly can't say anyting bad about him and i enjoy him company but as soon as anything romantic comes about I freak out. I mean littorally freak out.. ???

I guess maybe you want him as a friend forever. Maybe you want to keep him as a friend for security. Its your life, you can make your decisions.

It could be that his pheromones don't excite you or something. Maybe you're scared at loosing the friendship?

It doesn't matter why. It just matters that it is the way it is.

Honestly, I've spent quite a bit of time since my divorce trying to convince myself that I was interesting in men I wasn't interested in. I'd list off all their terrific qualities, but it all just came down to the fact that I wasn't interested.

When I finally connected with someone, it was like an electric shock, and I've never doubted my feelings about him or needed to "convince" myself of anything.

Hang on, you'll find what you're looking for eventually. In the meantime, don't ruin your friendship by trying to make something happen that just isn't there for you.

here are the reasons;

1) you dont want to screw up your friendship and lose your one saftey net. When

everything goes bad he is always there. If he is gone, who will catch you.

2) He is too easy to get. No challange. Thats why people like bad boys and bad

girls. They are a pain in the rear but its exciting.

3) Hes treats you too well. It gets boring real fast. Without being treated bad

sometimes, you lose perspective on the good.

4) why buy the cow when you get the milk for free. He gives you all the attention

and support you could ever want. Why would you go out with him? It would be

exactly the same, except you would be tied down with the whole going out with

him thing. Now you can date, and still get all his attention. Like having 1 job and

getting paid for two. Thats sweet ;)
