Guitar. I'm fluent in french myself, it's not that fascinating lol.

I'm tone deaf so the guitar would be wasted on me.

Now "Je t'aime" is a different thing altogether...

French hands down..

You'd be able to incorporate that in so many ways...especially if you already understand elements like charm and flirtation, and it's romanticized to hell...I mean how many people dream of visiting Paris? so it's all about the fantasy element...huge edge for a guy that knows what he's doing with words.

In terms of playing a guitar, yeah useful if you can be seen actually playing one, but otherwise its not like you can carry one around with you...although I see guys try it out, it's just not very practical...a language you can have anywhere at any time, and then you could actually visit Paris and not be entirely lost.

So if you're more of the conversational type, then choose the language...if you're more of the quiet not really good with words but more creative, go with the guitar...you can say anything playing a guitar and then it suddenly becomes a "lyric" which people find to be genius and emotional within itself.

At the end of the day it's only going to help you if you know how to incorporate it, so you would go with the one that is more practical for you...objectively speaking.

I'd just like to conduct a short poll, your answer is much appreciated!!!

Is it more attractive if a person can....

Speak French proficiently but not play guitar

or if they can

Play guitar proficiently but not speak French

Who would you choose?

As a straight guy my opinion is it doesn't matter and it would probably be better if she did the one she enjoyed more. I do like music and I feel everyone can understand it so you might be able to chalk playing the guitar as an internist more people share. You can only speak french to other people that know it.

EDIT: Sounds like you're a guy. Definitely learn to play guitar, most people can relate to music like I was saying.

Whichever you're actually interested in and have passion for...

I get the impression that you're wanting to take up either of these things? to impress someone? Could be wrong, but if you are, that's not attractive.

For me it depends. I mean if you speak fluent French and have no desire to go to France or any other French speaking countries, then what's the point? I mean you could be a French tutor.

In terms of romance I prefer guitar. I like musicians and creative individuals. I would say it would be more attractive though if you had your own songs, or played in a band or are a musician as a career or hobby, than just playing the songs that have already been created.

Francais est une belle langue, mais anglais est une belle langue aussi, et n'est pas ma langue maternelle. So the effect is the same with either french or english for me

Ha! I understood only n'est pas, which means "Isn't it so". If I'm wrong, then I don't know sh*t

She said, French is a beautiful language, but English is beautiful also. Neither are her mother language. Something like this.

What about someone who speaks English,French,Spanish and German?

That or the Guitar?

But personally I think either could help you get the girl at first, but keeping them is about your personality and not a language a musical instrument.Who knows, they might not even matter at first unless you claim it's guaranteed.
