napy666 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Who here has heard the audio book, read the book, or seen the movie and actually follows and believes in what this book meant? I did hear the audio book version and it was quite helpful and honest about how guys are nowadays and that I myself have experienced a lot of what was said in the book. What do you think about this book?
Barbarossa Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 I read the book and later saw the movie which I didn't enjoy as much. I thought the book was humorous and easy to relate to. As a male I think there could also be an interesting sequel "she's just not that into you" 2
MrCastle Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Hope women aren't making their dating decisions based on movies or books. 2
Conners Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 I love the movie. I watch it when I want some reinforcement that a particular guy is an a hole.
anna121 Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 I read the book. This review was shorter, and better. 1
fortyninethousand322 Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Hope women aren't making their dating decisions based on movies or books. Well, unless it's Hop on Pop. Everyone should base their life off of that book... 3
MrCastle Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Well, unless it's Hop on Pop. Everyone should base their life off of that book... If my name were Pop, I'd agree. 2
Eternal Sunshine Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Who here has heard the audio book, read the book, or seen the movie and actually follows and believes in what this book meant? I did hear the audio book version and it was quite helpful and honest about how guys are nowadays and that I myself have experienced a lot of what was said in the book. What do you think about this book? I have seen the movie and read the book. Don't fully agree with it. It's mostly common sense so I don't see why the book is so popular. One of the "he is not into you" signs is if a guy isn't asking you out. Often the most aggressive guys are not that serious about you and less confident guys may like you heaps more but are scared of rejection. It's not that black and white. 3
somedude81 Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 What is the point of the "He's just not into you" stuff? Is it a dating guide or something?
Arieswoman Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 I think it's a great book. I wish I'd had a copy when I was single !
superb Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 If my name were Pop, I'd agree. Hahaha thanks for the laugh
soccerrprp Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 I had someone suggest that I see this movie. I asked my gf about it and it sounds like a lot of stuff that is obvious and not all that insightful. I've chosen not to take a look at it, especially since it seems to be a movie that would benefit the ladies. Am I wrong? Anyway, no desire to see it.
RedRobin Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 I saw the movie but didn't read the book. I agree that it is an oversimplification. Stuff like, if a woman isn't sleeping with you, then she's not interested. A lot of guys have taken that kind of advice a bit too far and pushed for sex too early... which ruins interest for me. Probably a self fulfilling prophecy for some guys. ... or if a guy is interested, he will ask you out. Which is kinda true, but it doesn't say anything about what he's interested in lol. 1
regine_phalange Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 The movie was quite nice and showed that "rules" dont always apply to human relationships. I didn't read the book yet.
