Ryan_Talon Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 What position do you sleep in with your partner? Has it always been the same or has it changed with different partners? Do you think it's just a case of comfort or do you think it does mean something in a subconscious-body-language sense?
regine_phalange Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I like spooning (both directions). But I have this issue; I always sleep with a second pillow, I use it for support next to/under my tummy. It has happened -not a few times- that my partner is spooning me and I am spooning my second pillow My favorite is when my partner sleeps on his back and I sleep on his chest. It is the closest to the pillow I can think of (and warmer too). At the same time I am messing with his legs because mine are cold. Men are so useful. 1
Shepp Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 hmm...how do I sleep... On the right side of the bed - always always always On my back, head on the left. My girlfriend will always be on my left, with her head on my chest. We always sleep like that unless I've been on a night shift in which case i'll come in, turn off the telly which is on like max volume, get in trouble for being too loud getting changed (huh? ), and then try and fit on whats left of my side of the bed because my girlfriend will be bang in the middle doing her best starfish impression I think its just a comfort thing tbh....although when im sleeping alone I sleep on my side so idk
Phoe Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Oh man, I struggle with this so badly. I've never dealt with sleeping with another person on a regular basis, and I can't figure out how to do it. I spend the entire night awake I always sleep on my side, but in his bed I'm either smushed against the wall, or he's touching me, or we're having a blanket tug of war, or I don't have enough pillows (I too like to snuggle and spoon a pillow while sleeping), and I need a fan on to create white noise, and I need pitch black darkness.
DorkBreakfast Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I'll repeat what my grandmother said at a family reunion way back. "The only reason to share a bed is if sex is involved." I prefer to sleep alone as I'm a light sleeper anyways and any movement wakes me up.
d0nnivain Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 We'll start out spooning if I'm cold but for sleeping, you stay on your side & I'll stay on mine. Maybe our feet will touch but not much more. Before he passed, the dog was usually in the middle anyway. lol 1
Haydn Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I have to be on the inside next to a wall. She will usually lie on my chest. Or sleep with her head on my the top of my stomach. I hope this clears things up.
Shepp Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Before he passed, the dog was usually in the middle anyway. lol Oh yeah - one of our dogs likes to try and drag the duvet off and do a runner with it! I thought it was hilarious the first time. However when it happens at 3am for the second time that night after I've just got back to sleep in that rare time when both the babies aren't crying......ha ha yeah, I aint laughing quite so much!!
Eau Claire Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I have the best sleeps in the world when my guy wraps his body around mine. I feel so safe and secure. I don't just want but need to be held He sometimes gets up and goes home in the wee hours but only well after I'm fast asleep. He kisses me on the cheek and I don't wake up but know somehow that it's the most wonderful kiss in the world.
almond Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 All different positions. Sometimes we're entwined, sometimes I lay on his chest, sometimes we're on totally opposite sides. Depends on what's comfortable at any given moment.
Frank2thepoint Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 But I have this issue; I always sleep with a second pillow, I use it for support next to/under my tummy. Interesting. I also like to sleep with a pillow. I have mine rest underneath my stomach or under my chin, but I cuddle the sh*t out of it. I don't have a favorite position, I can sleep on my back, on my side, or on my stomach. As long as I am comfortable, warm, and drooling from a good sleep. But having a woman next me, whom I can use as a warm pillow, is the best. 1

Someone was jealous of my pillow.
Shepp Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I have even heard nagging about it. Yes I have. Someone was jealous of my pillow. Haha I think I'd get jealous of a pillow that got more of a cuddle than I did! there might be a mysterious disappearance 1
MissBee Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 I normally sleep on my stomach or my side when I sleep alone and when I sleep with a SO it usually ends up that way at the end of the night. I get hot easily so in theory I like spooning but then I get too hot and can't sleep so eventually I need to untangle myself lol. The most comfortable touching while sleeping is if I am on my side and his arm is around my waist, but I also change positions a lot so it wouldn't be like that all night. I also don't like when a SO sleeps with his back towards me, although it means nothing if I do it to him, but it can feel a bit alienating and I dunno why it bothers me so much.
