jinandjuice Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 When is considered when you date someone? Going on a date? Having a kiss? Sex? When can you say that you are "dating" someone?
organizedchaos Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Hm, more than 3 dates? Sex doesn't have to be included to be dating but something romantic should be going on. Otherwise you're just buddies.
newmoon Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 my definition of dating is when we've been together long enough that dates are assumed and you don't need to ask for a Friday/Saturday/event because you know you'll be going together. 2

Makes me smile. I used to feel sorry for the nervousness of boys who would call me up and ask for a date. But, not as sorry for myself who was desperately hoping the phone would ring. This continued into adulthood and until I met my current boyfriend many decades later. It is such a relief when you both 'just know' that you will be together. Every girl should learn at the end of a date to say what a nice time it was (if it was). Give the guy the confidence to tell her that it would be nice to get together again. Then she answers. 'Yes, I'd like that' and kiss him on the cheek. Such a simple couple of sentences would save all the anxiety that follows the next day.

Everything you said, except the kiss wasn't on the cheek just happened to me yesterday after my second date with this girl. It definitely let me know where I stand.
d0nnivain Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Dating is casual & not exclusive to me. It's about spending time together, kissing, hugging & hand holding. Without the physical it's just friends. Sex makes it much more serious. . . an exclusive relationship.

Something simple like this goes a really long way in affirming to the guy that what he is doing is good and should keep it up. Anything less than this, just means the girl is not interested. 1
