BadaceAcura Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 My ex and I ended a 2.5yr relationship 2 months ago,(I ended it because she kept pushing off telling her parents about me because her mother wont accept me being bi racial. She is 20 im 24) She still has a set of keys to my car and keeps putting me through the ringer on returning them. the first month seemed as if I was being strung along. Finally I started NC for about 3 weeks and mailed her apt key back. Last week I received a text from her saying hey, I waited 24hrs to respond and simply asked for my key. she replied that she was texting to see how I was doing. she didn't want to play games and said my keys were in good hands and she would get them back to me this past weekend. I never gave her any information on how I was doing because truth be told im still head over heels for this girl. Well Saturday night she texted me and asked where I was which by this time I was out of state. I replied with im out of town just drop the keys off in the mailbox please. she replies with no. I then say please be mature about this and drop them off. she responds with sorry but I don't want to leave your keys in the mailbox for someone to come by and take.(why she cares I don't know) I told her that I could have my mother come by and pick them up from my house and for her to just text me when she made the drop. She stated that she wanted a face to face and I needed to grow up and quit being a baby. which I broke down almost a month ago and messaged her to meet up and get them and she replied that she was at dinner and would text after. then text 2 hrs later saying she forgot to text.(she had her chance for face to face.) I replied with she had her opportunity for f2f but she claim some bs saying she forgot to text. and if I she cared just a bit she would quit making it so flipping difficult and just return the keys instead of always having an excuse. she said that I have always mattered to her and still do and she was not dropping them off. I told her if I mattered then she would have made it possible for a clean break or actually fought for us instead of letting something go that she claims meant a lot to her. She said F*** You that was so un called for. I did not respond. Then Last night she text me at 9:30 and say it never fails no matter what I do she still cant stop freaking missing me? WHat to do

You need to decide how important these keys are to you and how much you want to put up with. It may cost some money, but you can get your car rekeyed or the keys reprogrammed so you don't have to worry about the set of keys she has working. You can also threaten to file charges and demand return of the keys where and when you specify. It's up to you how much you want to put up with. She can only continue these games if you allow it. May be time to play hard ball with her. 1

I can reprogram my ignition to cut her key out( Im a tech for the brand of car that I own) Only problem is the the key that she has is equipped with a fob aka remote that I cannot clear out without having the fob physically in my hand. I have threatened taking legal action but I have talked to my buddies in law enforcement and our state law states if she tells the law that she does not have the key or fob then there is nothing that they can do.

You can tell her that you will press charges and you will present the texts as evidence.
