I don't know where you live, but in my country (and as far as I know in the US as well), this is a crime. If I drop my wallet in your backyard, it's still mine. I don't need an agreement drawn up. The wallet is mine regardless of its location.

She lent them, he didn't steal them. She didn't accidently leave them in his yard. He could argue that they were a gift.

Maybe I'm being too nice then. My ex lent me a lot of stuff. I guess I should have claimed that those were gifts.

I'm in agreeance in terms of returning stuff. I've never liked to keep things that belonged to exes, it was of greater benefit to me to return them!

But in the OP's case, she's using the items as an excuse to "not move forward". It's definitely not the clubs that are holding her back. And it's impossible to prove that they weren't given in good faith as a gift.

This is also why I don't lend anyone more than $100. If you never see it again, it was only $100.

Now, if she went to his house and took the clubs back, that might be a legal issue, but on her end, not on his.

Mine has a large folder filled with all my daughters baby/childhood pix on his PC. When we were together, he transferred them from my PC to his because mine was about to blow. Since I've gone NC after the break up, he's been using those pix as a way to get me to talk to him. He actually texted me saying that if I want them, I will have to respond. He's made several attempts but I have not broken NC. My guess is that as long as he has them, he thinks he has a connection to me and that one day I will contact him about it. Your ex might just be looking for u to show up. I wouldn't be it past these guys.
