somedude81 Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 I've heard this love languages thing everywhere, so I did some research and it really did make some things clear to me, however the nearest book stores didn't have it in stock!! I guess i'm not the only one dealing with this kind of situation What is this "book store" you speak of? This is where I bought it. I gets a little hooky at times, but it's a very interesting and informative read. Frankly I wish I had already read the book before my ex left me. Though at least I did figure out some things about myself and her either way.
Author Hopeful30 Posted January 14, 2014 Author Posted January 14, 2014 So he doesn't want to open up because he is scared, or he doesn't know how to show his love for you in an adult manner. But somehow, he won you over right? Not really. I don't need to be won over to date a guy, I just date him cuz I like him and why not? lol Don't listen to your friends' criticisms of your partner. If you are happy, trust yourself. <3 Thank you. This is the best advice. I haven't read the whole book either, just the summary. It's pretty self-evident from the summary though IMO. Glad it clarified some things for you, it certainly did for me. Hopefully you two will be able to reach a nice compromise! Thank you!
Elias33 Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Not really. I don't need to be won over to date a guy, I just date him cuz I like him and why not? lol Then, there is no problem, no?
Author Hopeful30 Posted January 14, 2014 Author Posted January 14, 2014 Then, there is no problem, no? I don't understand this western mentality. If you're not married or in a serious long term relationship all of a sudden these things shouldn't matter? If you're dating someone, it means you are romantically interested (at least thats where I'm at right now with my relationship, we are both romantically interested). So we gotta get married for him to start showing affection because that's when its 'real'? I think everyone should be treated properly no matter how long they have been dating. For me, that means affection, and there is nothing wrong in telling this to a man that i've been dating for several months.
