d0nnivain Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Tonight DH & I are going out to celebrate our engagement anniversary. 6 years ago tonight he popped the Question. Last year for our 5th he took me back to the restaurant where he asked & made sure we got the same table. That was pretty impressive since he proposed on a cruise! I share this with all of you to suggest things that can strengthen a relationship. We always acknowledge the anniversary of our 1st date, our engagement & our wedding because without the 1st two we wouldn't have the last one. Some times we have to think about the #s but that makes it fun. There are no presents or anything except for the wedding anniversary but it's nice to just stop, focus on each other & remember. Although I gotta say; I really wish I was on one of those cruises & warm right now.

I'm sure that took a lot fo work on his part to go find the exact same table and arrange all of that. My wife and I met on an internet bulletin board, back when there were no (or very few) websites, dating sites, etc. Our first date was essentially that first phone call where we talked all night long, both of us getting no sleep and having to get up for class, work, etc. when we finally ended the call. We got married on that same day 2 years later, so we just have the one day to celebrate. Now if I could find/figure out/remember the exact day/date I proposed that would give us a second day to celebrate. . . Not sure I can figure that out though. . .

I'm sure that took a lot fo work on his part to go find the exact same table and arrange all of that. . . He had gotten a very specific table the first time so it was easy to identify. Cruises bend over backwards to help you. All he did was walk into the restaurant, tell the hostess what he wanted, pointed to the table & they did the rest. 1
