ElectricTangerine Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 A huge box was delivered to my neighbour while I was away this morning. It's from my xMM. I broke up with him a month ago and asked for NC. I've been NC but he has reached out on a few occasions. I haven't responded. And now I'm afraid to open this thing, but I'm still curious what's in it. Crap. What to do with the damn thing now?! Last thing I needed today was a huge box from xMM sitting in my hall. Damn.
Snipercatt Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 You can presume it isn't final divorce documents. 2
Nothisgirl Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Idk how you're holding off. If have torn that box open as soon as it arrived. That send you can always return to sender without opening...that'd send a pretty clear message 1
Snipercatt Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Electric, I have been where you are. When MM deprived you of making an UNINFORMED, extremely important, life decision he doomed the relationship. There's no decent recovery from this. Choosing who we share our heart and vulnerability with is probably the most important decision we make. MM deceived you for his own purposes. You miss him, but you should be very angry! Return that box to his wife's residence, or throw it away. He's still hoping to use you to his advantage, and your detriment. It's so ironic that this MM has been married several times, but he isn't husband material. There's no way but through this pain. I know. 2
bentleychic Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 I think you need to open it immediately and report back. Could it be stuff that you've given him, perhaps? 6
MorbidFever Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 I think you need to open it immediately and report back. ^^This!
Author ElectricTangerine Posted January 7, 2014 Author Posted January 7, 2014 He also e-mailed me again, just a few minutes after I started this thread. About the package of course. It's a gift apparently. I had to go for a run right after because the whole thing stressed me out. I was swearing as I was carrying the package upstairs earlier. I wish he would just respect my wishes. I pushed the giant box into a corner in my hall and covered it with some shirts so I don't have to see it. I haven't decided yet if I should open the damn thing or not. I'm curious, but I'm afraid of that sharp painful feeling I'd get if it's some sweet attentive gift. It probably is because he's pretty good at giving gifts. Yes, I'm still angry at him. I almost started moving on from the anger and hurt into acceptance, but now anger's back too. I just wish he would respect my wishes and allow me to keep him in a good memory instead of doing this. He thinks it will help but it only pushes me further away. I'm just glad I have other things I can (and need to) focus on.
will-ow Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 If you're serious about NC, then I think you need to do 2 things here.... 1. Write 'Return to Sender' on the parcel and take it staright to the nearest post office. 2. Delete his emails without reading them. As long as he knows he can send you stuff and you're paying attention to his contacts, he knows he's still got you on the hook and he can still manipulate you. 3
Popsicle Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 He's a little stinker. I wish you luck, my dear. Just remember, there is no easy or ideal way out of this. 1
Author ElectricTangerine Posted January 7, 2014 Author Posted January 7, 2014 I caved and opened the damn thing. It's a humongous care package.
Nothisgirl Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 I caved and opened the damn thing. It's a humongous care package. ****head (him, not you) I hope he included some chocolate and a big ass bottle of wine. Sending you strength 1
Author ElectricTangerine Posted January 7, 2014 Author Posted January 7, 2014 ****head (him, not you) I hope he included some chocolate and a big ass bottle of wine. Sending you strength Thanks. =) Yep, chocolate was included. Can't make myself eat it though.
KathyM Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 I'd suggest donating the box to charity, and not mentioning it to him or having contact with him in any way. He's trying to bribe you with gifts. You need to have the self respect to show that you can't be bought. 2
waterwoman Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Care package? What? Antiseptic wipes, incontinence pads, tissues? Is this a US thing ? 1
yellowmaverick Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I caved and opened the damn thing. It's a humongous care package. Oh...kind of anticlimactic. I was dying all day to know what was in the box.
MissBee Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I would send it back to him. That would've pissed me off frankly. That's only sweet if we're on good terms. If we're not and I've asked for NC and you did this, I would consider it manipulative and pushy versus sweet. But realistically, I would probably eat the chocolates, drink the wine and think of it as payment for my troubles and no I wouldn't bother to even send a thank you or even act like I received it. However, on the other hand, I'd be peeved so would probably not even want to touch or eat anything he bought. 3
wanting more Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I'd eat the chocolate and drink the wine. Unless it was a Hershey bar and bottle of Boones farm ( for anyone who doesn't know Boones Farm, you can buy a gallon for About $5 and have a headache for a week. It's a Southern thing y'all :-)
wanting more Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 But I really am curious About what else was in the big box.
Mycatsnuggles Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Best revenge enjoy everything and never acknowledge. He's dying to know what you think. Envision yourself going days weeks and months without answering him as he awaits your acknowledgement. You are in control of his agony right now. Enjoy it. 3
beach Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Eat and drink everything in the box - then send the box back to him filled with dog poop. Send it to his home address. That ought to send him a clear message. 2
