(they're 19 & 20) At the wedding, and the rehersal, and the reception, me and my brothers wife's brother were hanging out because we were the only two our age there. So we hung out and got depressed that we wouldnt see each other for another year when he starts going to my school (he's a yr younger than me). So we talked on the phone and wrote notes which we passed to each other thru a girl on my bus that has classes with him, and we hung out that next saturday. We watched movies and babysat my lil brother and he asked me out and i said yes. (Best 2 months of my life!!) but when i tell ppl who he is, they freak out and think that it's nasty....my question is..Is he my brother-in-law? or is he not related to me? becuz i didnt marry his sister, my brother did..idk if what we're doing is wrong or not..becuz i really dont think it is..and obviously neither does he..PLEASE HELP!
Nocturnal Posted January 9, 2005 Posted January 9, 2005 Biologically (and legally) he's 'nothing' to you. The fact that your brother married his sister is irellevant. People are idiots, plain and simply put. Date him and have fun. Legally, your brother's wife is your sister-in-law. But her brother isn't your brother-in-law. And even if he was, you're still biologically unidentical.
RowanRavyn Posted January 9, 2005 Posted January 9, 2005 I agree. Blow everyone off. I wouldn't even explain to others who he is. Its not one bit their business. If you have to say anything just say you met him at your brothers wedding. Leave it at that. Two of our friends got married. Their parents are both widows. They have gotten to know each other very well because our friends just had a baby....guess what...they are dating now. Its actually very sweet.
