Lots of people say that in the time apart from your ex you will tend to overlook or forget the bad parts of them or the relationship and remember the good. I can't relate. My ex was an awesome person, but I can't overlook all the behavioral 180's that I saw right before it ended. It totally changed my view of her and it's been like that for a year. I'm really mixed on how I feel about her and it sort of depends on the day, but those bad parts haven't faded from memory at all. Is this a dumpee thing, or do I just hold onto things longer than the average person?

Could be that your logical side is rightly taking precedence over your emotional side when it comes to nostalgia.

Good for you.

Consider yourself fortunate, I am the opposite. I have been dwelling on my ex's positive qualities(even I they are an illusion!), and struggle to look at her negative ones, even though I would like to. I think it would be easier to move forward with more negative, than positive thoughts of the person.

Were you perfect in the relationship?

Any moments where those 180's were maybe as a result of your actions?

But please dont mistake I am defending the girl, its just theres always two sides.

Even a good heart can have a 180, and you need to talk it out, or let go completely.

Well of course I was perfect in the relationship :lmao:

No, I was not perfect. No, those 180s were not a result of my actions. Yes, they were a result of her coming across new people and experiences that she wanted to try.

And you're right, a good heart can have a 180, especially when it's in bad company.

Thanks, Philosiraptor. I try.
