Want to start dating but feel like I need to rebuild... Myself.

So, here's the thing.

I BU with a guy past november.

It was awful, everything that had happened since that (and while still there) has been the worst nightmare ever. I've been discovering he might be an NPD, perhaps and alcoholic, (at least he has drinking problems for sure).

I'm interested on a guy.

We know each other a little bit, but never dated or anything.

I want to get to know him better but I am aware of that I don't want a relationship right now. I'm having a hard time with the trust issues this whole thing left me with... I lost some "friends" in the process, I just want to feel happy again, and rebuild my self confidence.

Do you think I should give it a try and date?

It's been only one month and a half since the BU, but the news keep coming and my ex seems a monster even more and more.

Any comments will be welcome, thank you.

No definitely not. Just stay single, have fun with your friends, don't Ben worry about romance right now.

Reflect on the relationship and what you learned, that will help you distinguish a quality man from an immature boy.

There's two minds of thought.

Get over and process it.

Get someone else and forget.

The forget thing is a rebound.

Process it.

I am still processing something which ended in April. I didn't have time to before now.

I am feeling a lot better for processing it.

I'm not ready to date anyone yet thougg

Yes, thank you, you are both right.

I don't like rebounds... Because it's like hiding the inevitable to ourselves, it's a lie, when we have issues like co-dependency, or low self steem.

It's going to take a long time before I step into another relationship.
