Baumer Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 What is a nice (better) way to ask my ex not to pigeonhole me? I mean I feel like she thinks she is the only person who changes and I will always be who I was when we dated ad infinitum.

Make changes and improvements for yourself and you will have the last say so, without saying a thing.
Author Baumer Posted January 4, 2014 Author Posted January 4, 2014 Well I'm all for showing off improvements but I will never run into this woman again if she doesn't want to see me. I mean is there anything I can say to her to encourage her to not write me off based on relationship that wasn't perfect but was improving until she moved half a world away (great career decision for her, demoralizing for me)

Nothing you say will change that. The only thing I would tell her is "Ok, later" Leave it at that. That shows a lot more about how much you can change than writing clingy sappy notes to her.
Softie Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Do it anyway (make changes) one of two things will Happen 1) they might come back Or 2) they'll be a distant memory & you much improved & grown person Either way it's good
