Honeymoon period shorter as we get older?

I wondered if anyone had noticed that the 'honeymoon' period doesn't last as long as we get older.

Honeymoon periods get shorter as logic and emotional maturity grow.

Yes, the flip side of that is, as we age and learn what we want, we waste less time on courtship. A early twenties person needs 2-3 or more years to learn about themselves and as a couple. Now in my thirties I need at most one year to be sure , if the other person is also my age.
