knight56 Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 Do you ever dream of your childhood? I living up to this day!!
Moose Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 I don't. I can't even remember most of my childhood. I've supressed a lot since I'm from a broken/abusive home. I wish I could remember some things though.
Naive Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 I actually don't Well at least not a lot. I do have a lot of beautiful memories though.
HokeyReligions Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 I'm still in my childhood! My dreams are largely scary dreams where the world is dark and dangerous, monsters lurk in so-called safe zones, and parents fear pain when their children walk out the door. Oh wait, that's the world as it is. I had one dream a few years ago that actually changed my life. I don't believe it was just a dream. I won't go into it -- it would take reams and reams, but the impact it had on me that night and day have permanently changed part of my life. No, it was not a religious experience, although others may interpret it as such had it happened to them. I don't dream about my childhood. I'm like Moose in that I can't remember much of it! Snap-shot memories is all. Although, the older I get the more memories I have of my youth and less memories I have of 'now'. !
quankanne Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 nope – I keep defaulting back to my high school days, and relationships with certain people. The absolute worst part of those HS-themed dreams is my chasing after a guy I had a huge crush on from my grade school days through high school. last night I dreamed it turned out that I had married him instead of the guy I actually married and I woke up feeling weird ... but I digress. I think I don't have dreams about my childhood because for the most part, it was a very happy one. Teenage years weren't.

I can recall the one specific dream that helped me change the very way I think about about myself, because it helped me to accept (and appreciate) me for myself ...
Thinkalot Posted January 9, 2005 Posted January 9, 2005 Yes, I have one very happy recurring dream about my childhood...set in the childhood home which I loved.
7on Posted January 9, 2005 Posted January 9, 2005 Well, my dreams have been sexual fantasies as of late. I was really a hyperactive kid growing up - plus I haven't been out of childhood as long as you guys have. So not a lot of dreams about the past. I do think about it a lot. Trying to solve some of my "problems" over break. Like my issues with talking about sex and why I can't seem to get close to a woman. The first one is because of porn and the second is because I was hurt real bad by a girl I went to Prom with. Didn't really think much of it at the time, but I realized that I never had a good time at another school dance after that. She basically used me to see this senior she had a crush on. Anyway, that's behind me. I just need to overcome these so I can have a healthy relationship with a woman. They seem to be the biggest problems I have around women. But I digress. Must be the bad attention span. Oh well, my childhood was happy for the most part. Jr. High and the first half of HS was a hectic time though.
