Heartbroken Eagle Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Firstly, may I wish to all you Loveshackers a Happy New Year and thank you all for your kind words and advice over the year. This site has been reassurring and supporting at times. I have had a truly horrid year at which I have certainly reached the lowest point in my life but I am slowly rebuilding, hopefully to be a better and stronger person than before my dreadful split from my nasty, cheating ex and her family. Also, more importantly, to be the best dad possible for my son. Now a New Year is about to begin and I want to move on and be happy and restore my self esteem again. I realise that to do this I need to be more positive and stop dwelling on the past. Start living for the future. What are you guys going to do to have a better, happier New Year?
Philosoraptor Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 All anyone can do is take care of themselves and find peace with the past. Once you've done that you will free yourself from whatever anguish ails you and put yourself on the path to current and future happiness. 1
LornaFE Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Here is what I will do in 2014 to take care of myself - keeping busy: working, sports, going out with friends at least 3 evenings a week, learning something new or starting a new hobby ... - giving myself time to heal - take all the time I want when starting a new relationship 1
Debanked Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Learn to actually listen, and practice it. 1
AnyaNova Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Learn to love yourself and know your worth no matter what SO's and exes may do or choose. My ex chose to leave me despite his feeling for me and mine for him. I let this tie in to some of my past issues and take his choice as a statement of my value for far too long and is probably why I'm still here. But I think the best thing is to learn to love ourselves and learn that we are worthy of love no matte how any particular individual may treat us, and that we deserve to be treated well. 1
JDPT Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 I'll like to let go of anger and find inner peace. I quiet honestly believe that once I accomplish these I will be in much better shape. This is my objective for 2014 along with a boat load of other plans which I'm already embarked on. I'll continue to focus on myself and understand that I have and always will be priority.
lovesick1 Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 - Practice my musical talents - Cherish my new relationship - Settle down in a career - Hit 170 lbs lean by December, shouldn't be too hard. Gone from 135 to 160 lean in a year and a half. Those are pretty much my goals for this year. Whatever you do, make them reasonable!
